Bon wasn't surprised to see any new animatronics inside the pizzeria, but it certainly wasn't an everyday occurrence. Plus, they were rarely ever in Parts & service as he was dragging one of the older ones back there.

Do you have a video of your foxy making the recorded sounds?

I've been meaning to make one demonstrating the sound circuits for the folks thinking about using them-- I've got the weekend off so I'll put that up tomorrow. 

I want to hold off on doing a full demonstration video until I've got everything done, but at this point that just means the robot hand.  If all goes well I should be able to do that over the weekend as well :)

Is Foxy remote controlled and are you going to make a tutorial on the servos and electrical parts?

Nope, he’s not remote controlled. I have a bluetooth module I could have used but it seemed like overkill.  Instead, I have a few control switches hidden in the hook with physical wires running up the arm that connect them to the microcontroller.  He also does some stuff autonomously, like looking toward sound and blinking at random intervals.

I’m not going to do a tutorial on the electrical stuff because there are a lot of tutorials out there already, explaining things better than I ever could!  Here are the Arduino examples for simple buttons, potentiometers, servos, and external LEDs, for starters.  These are the basics I combined to make the Foxy mask do his thing.  He’s pretty simple when you get right down to it :D

Also what kind of foam did you use for foxy's head? or what kind if foam do you recommend?

I have no idea, sorry, only that the foam I used was trash and should not be used for anything ever >_>

Any other costumers out there know of a good foam to use as a base?

I have been wanting to build 3 feet tall FNAF animatronics. I would like to know if there are any good tutorials out there and if you have any tips. I have never built one before but I am good with tech and crafts.

I didn’t use any tutorials to build the Foxy head, but I did spend a lot of time browsing youtube for videos demonstrating various mechanical mechanisms. I also researched fursuit builders pretty extensively to see if I could use any of their tricks— there were a lot of interesting techniques but not much ended up being used. Also there are the tutorials I just posted…it sounds like you’d need to modify them quite a bit for your purposes but maybe you’d still be able to use the core design.

The best place to start would be to make a detailed plan of what you want the animatronics to be able to do: make a table of inputs/sensors and outputs/movements, and how you want them to relate to each other.   Also I would recommend first building the animatronics so they can be operated by hand, and then figuring out how to replace the hand power with servo and motor power.

Whatever route you take, please share when you get them started.  I wanna see :D
