Female characters #10 and/or 13
10 - YES SNOGGING
1. Ruth Evershed (Spooks). I could fill this whole list with Nicola Walker chacaters, but I’m going to stick with one character per actor. Justine also gets an honorable mention. And Jo Fontaine. Crap, just all her characters ever.
2. Lix Storm (The Hour). I want to snog her and hold her and be inside her and be her. It’s a very complex relationship.
3. Helen Magnus (Sanctuary). Beginning of my emmerson into fandom, rather than just dabbling on the outskirts.
4. Caroline Elliot (Last Tango in Halifax). I can see myself involved with a real-world counterpoint of that character, which is interesting - that doesn’t happen often, mainly because characters I adore don’t usually ‘exist’ in ‘real life’.
5. Nicola Murray (TTOI). So in love with Rebecca Front, and I’d snog Nicola’s face off.
13 - I wish had better development/writing.
I tend to skip on shows that don’t develop characters much, or fill in the gaps between myself. So, characters I wish had more screen time, or development happened on screen, rather than inferred:
1. Ruth Evershed. There was some much more going on behind the scenes than we ever saw, and I want to see it. Spooks fandom isn’t going to know what hit it when I get the time to write fic again.
2. Jean Innocent (Lewis). A few tiny snippets of an outside life, a few references to her home life not going well, and one scene where Front, andactualy got the act. They def could have done something interesting there at some point.
3. Clarice Willow, and Lacy - their entwined story line, for that matter (Caprica). Polly Walker is so fantastic, and Magda Apanowicz was such a little powerhouse, that plotline was handled rather poorly, I thought. A few wiggle rounds with timing, cutting out a few bits of overriding arc, and they could have been really well developed. But they go jumbled around, and confusing, and I was so disappionted with the series, espically after how in love with the pilot I was.
4. Clara Oswin (Doctor Who). I want to love her, I really do. But the dynamic the show is pushing is so similar to the previous few years, and I’m just bored now. I want to see something different, and my relationship with Clara is suffering as a result.
5. I’m drawing a blank. I’ll come back to this later.
