my hand began making an attempt on my life halfway through this and my pen kept snagging on the scratches in my screen protector and drove me mad so. whatever. go my clarverlings.

just fucking realized the bucket tool failed me and filled the wrong thing im too lazy to fix it so fuck it we ball

i want good things for them i want isaac to be a silly goose in downtime i want john to be an overly cautious bastard i want a complete breakdown of all stoic pretense when they realize theyve made it home i want them sitting and drinking hot chocolate together and maybe isaac’s got a little extra in there to keep the edge off. its okay he deserves it. and i want them to take a little nap. a long nap. together, preferably.

more tøp flavored dead space posting but this time its sort of shippy

theyre very clancybearer coded in my mind theyre not exact parallels but theyre close enough that it makes my heart hurt

cuz. cuz. in my head “cover me! / covering you.” has always reeked of this sort of “im gonna do something stupid, shoot off the bads for me” bullshit that isaac and john have and. ugh. i can imagine them falling into it so easily

when isaacs got his hands in a circuit’s guts “cover me!” and john just goes “covering you.” and when johns ransacking a place for ammo “cover me!” and isaac just goes “covering you.” and when theyre in the nexus and isaacs got the probe “cover me!” and john just goes “covering you.” and when theyre fighting the moon johns got a marker “cover me!” and isaac just goes “covering you.”

and then theyre laying in the dark and isaac cant sleep and everything is so quiet and nothing could possibly be safe and he says so quietly “cover me” and john replies “covering you.” and holds him a little closer and isaac relaxes just a little bit because he hasnt lied about it before and hed like to believe it now.
