{SONGWRITING III}
the start of composition; 140408 - 140417
"Composition," Byunghee started, he was always thrilled to teach the Songwriting III class, they were of such a high standard and each student had a spark, a flare the his other students hadn't quite achieved yet "every person in this class has the capability of writing the most amazing songs, I know, I've seen it. But, do you have what it takes to compose a full song?" Byunghee knew from experience that no-one would be able to make it in the composing industry if they didn't have the talent to write their own music to go with their lyrics.
"I know the majority of you here at least play one instrument, if not, you'll have to develop your skills electronically." He had started pacing up and down the front of the class, he'd decided to act more stern with the class, show them that what they were doing was very serious and he had every intention in each and every one of them progressing on to become the future of the music industry. "This semester you will be learning about composition, I expect you all to know how to use the Circle of Fifths, I want you to be able to find the perfect major and minor combinations that are the most pleasing in a piece of music and I also want you to each know which Greek scale is best suited to certain pieces. At the end of it, I want a song."
He laughed lightly, he had to work the students hard this year. If they had any shot at debuting, they had to be perfect. "Not just any song, however," there would always be a catch with him, perhaps he was pushing them too hard for a personal sense of achievement, maybe because he believed it would be helpful "It has to be a hit. A song suitable for any famous artist, not a pathetic song you'd write for the girl you always stare at across the classroom." He flashed his eyes over to a male student sat at the back of the room and smiled sarcastically; with that he pointed to the student sat next to him.
"Now," he asked "What do I want from you this semester?"
