Fabric Study, 2026
Decided to try and do a classical study to pull me out of art slump. Maiden in Contemplation by Gaston de La Touche. Original below. It was actually very soothing to do this. I feel like it would have been a good time to use the time lapse function in CSP but I completely forgot till I was almost done. :,) I will remember one of these days.
Classical drapery digital study. Gotta learn those folds.
the meeting on the turret stairs ... but with a twist <3
Google it! This was super fun to make. I'm doing it as kind of a "draw this in your style", more than an actual classical art study.
I really love the original portrait by Eduard Magnus: the flower hairpiece, the beautiful dress, the graceful pose... so I tried my hand at a simplistic imitation of it! Please look up the original portrait because it's really so pretty and detailed.
In case you don't remember who Jenny Lind is, she was a famous opera soprano. She even was in the Greatest Showman! Unfortunately, the movie completely butchered her character and portrayer her as lustful, jealous, and power-hungry. In real life, Jenny was very modest and kind, and actually couldn't stand Barnum. They had a rivarly at one point!
