Today, Witold Malcuzynski has been largely forgotten, but he was a direct heir of the Polish tradition, a student of Paderewski, and of course, a specialist of Chopin.
I came across him while looking through old, cheap vinyls and I'm glad I bought the album. I especially like this Polonaise, despite the poorer sound quality, I like it better than the 1960 stereo recording listed on Spotify. This is slower and the left hand and silences are more defined, seems like he uses less pedal. My disk does have some damage but I listen to it on repeat. Great find ☺️
