Explorez la géométrie et l'émotion de la danse avec cette œuvre originale unique de 10Dance. Cette peinture à l'encre de chine célèbre la co
The Geometry of Passion.
Once I started drawing the 10Dance duo, I realized I couldn't just stop at one portrait. I’ve become fascinated by how they occupy space. Their movement is like a language, and I’m trying to learn every word. 🖤
In this second piece of my India ink series, I wanted to play with perspectives. I’ve included a top view because there is something so architectural and powerful about seeing a ballroom couple from above—it highlights the precision of their connection. I paired it with a frontal view to keep that emotional spark alive.
Every time my brush touches the paper, I feel like I’m rehearsing the dance with them. 🖋️

I brought my plate down to the electro- etching room and set up my plate so it would work correctly. I started by adding a rod to the back of the plate so that the clips could attach to the plate and allow it to actually work. Once the rod was taped in place I was able to attach the red positive clip to the top of the rod. I attached the black negative clip to a piece of copper that was placed in the water. It is similar to a battery where there need to be a full joined circuit for the process to work. The machine was set at 2 volts max so the max couldn’t go higher than that. I left my plate in for 15 mins to allow the water/zinc sulphate solution to eat away at the parts I’d etched out.
I was able to remove the ground off the plate using white spirits to reveal the final plate ready for inking.

Photography,
• After attending Deborah’s photography seminar i wanted to use the latex piece I made to communicate movement through visual images/videos
• Using lighting I emphasised the traces of movement on the pieces to highlight the traces they had made
• From this I developed several images which have further developed my concept of traces made by movement
