Hair falling like you got nine lives

Head banging like you’re running out of time

Sleeveless tank like you got no worries in the world

Eyeliner smudged in a graveyard of tears

Is this the moment you dreamed about for years

It’s like looking in a mirror

Looking in this strange boys eyes

I recognize the flame in his mind

Cause it’s also in mine

If I could freeze this moment

I’d stay here for a while

With the sweat and the love

And the strangers and the girl gifted with gray eyes

But the song will end

And you’ll disappear into the mosh pit

Like another hopeless trick

I’ll laugh with stars lighting up my eyes

Cause this was the best thing that never lied

The best mystery I ever solved

Was the concrete floor serenaded by my burgundy boots

We’ll remember reality demands our attention

I’m remembering that white t-shirt tension

I’ll remember this night like a traffic cone lick

And my skin will meet the outside air’s cold prick

This is a poem I wrote about going out for the first time with one of my best friends and singing like crazy with a group of strangers including a boy in a sleeveless black tank top with brown floppy hair and xes on his hands that matched the ones on mine
