It is fascinating how Dostoevsky never narrates Ivan Karamazov physical appearance (perhaps he wanted to focus on Ivan intellectual side) he only provides descriptions of how expressive Ivan actually is. We always get a sense of Ivan appearance and personality through the eyes of other characters, such as Madame Khokhlakova. According to my headcanon, Ivan looks almost like Alyosha but a paler that looks a bit sickly, he is taller than his little brother and has a more mature face.
Do you believe in the undead, or are you still safe in the illusion of daylight?” 🌙🦇

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
🗝️ "As his wife—at his side always, and always restrained, and always checked—forced to keep the fire of my nature continually low, to compel it to burn inwardly and never utter a cry, though the imprisoned flame consumed vital after vital—this would be unendurable."
⛓️ Literary Note: Many literary critics believe the "imprisoned flame" Jane describes is a direct parallel to Mr. Rochester's first wife, Bertha Mason, who is literally a prisoner in the attic and is often interpreted as a symbol of the repressed rage and passion of the Victorian woman. ⛓️
