A Lucifer Headcanon

So not Ghost but kinda; I've always headcanoned Lucifer having a limp from the fall. Much like Hephestus being tossed off Olympus by Zeus he sustained permanant damage to his legs; in Lucifer's case the left. It's why he would carry a cane and in this case always on his right (you use a cane on the opposite side of the injury).

It's a nice little tie to some of Hephestus' more "satanic" traits. Also there was likely some Vulcan (same guy kinda, probably a much older deity who was adjusted by the Romans; can you tell I love the classics?) bits in there.

Anyway, it also explains why when anybody asks me who my favorite Greek God is I answer Hephestus. And Lucifer is my favorite biblical character(not really honestly because the modern conception of Lucifer is MOSTLY bible fandom inventions).

ok ok so what IF (before Hector/Ekoto* killed Patroclus/Patroklos*) Hector & Achilles/Ahkilleus fought and fell in LOVE?

IDK if you guys know this but Penthesilea (an Amazonian queen mentioned in the Epic Cycle (think "big series about the Trojan War") fought Achilles. During/after the fight, he fell in love w/her. SO what if the same thing happened when he fought Hector? I mean, Achilles is queer (no, I will not debate this). He canonically falls in love w/an opponent (as shown above) & throughout The Iliad, he gives fewer and fewer fucks about the actual war as it goes on. He also has a poly thing going on btwn himself, Patroclus & Briseis--so I wouldn't say he'd be opposed to showing an interest in Hector (& meeting Andromache bc she seems cool!)

yeah, so TL;DR: Achilles/Hector is a new ship, as is Achilles/Hector/Patroclus/Briseis/Andromache!

*givin' ya the names in both their Romanized & "original" Anatolian/Hittite or Ancient Greek forms! 😁

Working on the final chapter, but come to a problem and can’t decide what I want to do.  First instinct:  talk to my beta (she’s also one of my best friends whom I’ve known for over a decade, so she’s used to me bugging her about everything, fanfiction related or not).  Except she doesn’t respond right away (sometimes I curse myself for being part of the generation that relies on instant gratification), so I compose an invocation of the beta.  I don’t know why I suddenly had the invocation of the muses from (I think the one I’m specifically thinking of is) the Iliad stuck in my head.  But I did and so I composed this little snippet hoping my beta would answer me with help and inspiration:

Talk to me, O greatest of betas, Help me figure out what to do. Shall I sing of perils past? Or add another story to the queue? Do I tie of the ends of this thread? Or leave it open for more? Talk to me, O greatest of betas, "Please help me!" she implored.

Fun Fact:  she replied to my question while I was composing this invocation.  It works!
