Notes: This is just a drabble so it's nothing fancy but jhjksdakda Alhaitham is such a prick (affectionate) I can only imagine how unbearable his teasing flirting would be
You sensed Alhaitham’s eyes on you with your nose buried between the pages of a well-worn book. He studied you with a genuine curiosity, something rather out of place for the Akademiya’s scribe. Few things piqued his interest so, and yet, there he was, observing the gentle flutter of your eyelashes, your nimble fingers that carefully flipped to a new page, even the way you nonchalantly brushed the stray strands of hair away from your eyes as you continued your reading. You were nearly tempted to say something, to let Alhaitham know he’d been found out—although, it didn’t seem like he was really worried about being discreet in the first place. A part of you wondered if he was staring on purpose, as if he were daring you to break the silence, but what did he gain from that? Was there some kind of expression or reaction from you that would satisfy his intrigue? You couldn’t put the pieces together, and that’s exactly what drove you mad about him. Alhaitham never left a single opening for others to exploit. His every move was so meticulously calculated that it made it impossible to find his vulnerabilities or weaknesses. How could anyone possibly stand against a man of such caliber?
“[Name], are you all right? You’re staring.”
Alhaitham’s voice plucked you out of your thoughts, and it was to your abject horror that you realized you’d been staring at him this entire time.
And he’d simply let you.
Anyone else might have missed it, but you caught sight of his slightly upturned lips, a silent indication of his having caught you in the act. A mixture of anger and bashfulness flooded through you, turning your cheeks a deep red.
“At a loss for words now? You looked like you had so much to say.”
You bit back the witty remark on your tongue, not daring to give Alhaitham so much as a single inclination of just how flustered he’d made you. Instead, you unpursed your lips, directing your attention back to the book you were meant to be reading.
“As you already know, I’m busy,” you replied coolly, but inside you were fighting back the urge to meet his gaze again. Even if Alhaitham was…irritating, he was breathtaking. That was something you couldn’t dispute.
“Oh, am I disturbing you? My apologies. I suppose my…suggestions, can wait.”
Your eyes immediately flickered upwards to meet his, and it was then that you’d recognized your mistake. Alhaitham was smirking at you now, clearly pleased with himself that he was able to command your attention just by mere words. It was too late to hide the blush blooming on your face now. Alhaitham knew exactly how you felt about him, and he was making every effort to confirm his conclusion. But why repeat his experiments when he’d only get the same answer?
“I did wish to speak to you regarding a new project given to me by the sages. I’d hoped I’d be able to enlist your help, but…”
“...Give me five minutes and you will have my full attention.”
“Wonderful. I’ll be waiting for you at the Grand Bazaar. Don’t be late.”
As Alhaitham rose out of his seat and strode past you to the Akademiya’s entrance, you swore you felt the faint brush of his fingertips against yours. The gesture brought a new wave of heat searing through your skin. If Alhaitham saw how you looked now, you don’t think you’d ever hear the end of it.
Perhaps that was his goal all along: to get you to confess before he had to do so to you.
The nerve of that man. I’ll make him admit his own love for me.
Soft, fleeting kisses against your neck slowly roused you from your deep sleep, eyes blinking open to Diluc Ragnvindr hovering above you.
"Good morning, dearest," he spoke, voice still hoarse from just waking up. He smiled a bit, remembering you telling him how much you loved hearing him in the mornings. After giving you a proper greeting, he resumed his task.
His fingers traced shapes on your skin as he kissed you. The brush of his lips was almost ticklish, but Diluc worked slowly, meticulously, blessing each area of bare skin he could find. Your eyelids fluttered shut as you sighed, sinking deep into Diluc's touch. His lips traveled from the hollow of your neck down to your collarbone, kissing along its grooves. He made sure to be gentle, not wanting to hurt you.
You would have replied to Diluc's affectionate greeting if you weren't left feeling so dizzy and hot from his touch. Was it his Pyro vision or just the way he'd mastered leaving hot kisses all over your body?
"Don't you have work to do today?" you asked through half-lidded eyes, head falling back onto the pillow when Diluc kissed a tender spot.
"Mhm. Not worried about it right now, though."
You laughed. Diluc was never one to shove his work to the side for later. But ever since he married you, he'd found plenty of reasons to lose himself in your love instead.
Diluc pulled away for a moment to catch his breath before hastily returning his lips against your skin. He traveled from your collarbone to your shoulders, softly chuckling when he caught the sight of goosebumps along them.
"Do I really have such an effect on you?" he asked, raising a brow. "If I'd known you liked being covered in kisses so much, I'd have done this more often."
You didn't have a chance to reply before his lips met your skin once more. He lowered his head to kiss further and further down your arm before turning to kiss down the other shoulder. You'd almost considered going back to sleep when you felt Diluc's mouth meet the skin just above your chest. A pleasant sound escaped you, despite the hand that flew to your mouth to cover it.
"Don't hold yourself back," Diluc spoke, gently prying your hand from your face and intertwining his fingers with your own. "I want to hear. It's how I know I'm doing my job right."
"B-But it's embarrassing..."
"It shouldn't be. My favorite sound is your pleasure."
Your cheeks flushed a deep red as Diluc broke into laughter. "Ah, I wasn't trying to sound so risqué," he remarked, his own face flushing red. "But my point still stands."
And still, he kept kissing you, though now laughing accompanied each small kiss. You darted your attention away in the process, hoping he couldn't see just how flustered he'd made you.
"I apologize, darling. Can I make it up to you?"
He looked at you with those gorgeous dark eyes that shone with his love for you. The sight made your heart skip a beat, something only your beloved Diluc could do to you.
"Stay with me in bed for a while longer?"
"Do you even need to ask?"
Without a moment's hesitation, Diluc fell into place beside you, wrapping his arms around your waist.
"I love you," he whispered, pressing a kiss against your shoulder.
You smiled, snuggling into his embrace. "I love you, too."
Summary: One evening on the balcony of Wangshu Inn, Xiao decides to make his feelings clear to you.
Notes: I feel like I'm actually terrible at being ✨ poetic ✨ but I had this one sitting in my drafts and I thought someone might enjoy it :) I just love Xiao and he deserves all the happiness in the world
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
"Don't you know what you mean to me?"
Your eyes widen as you turn to Xiao who’s sitting beside you on Wangshu Inn’s balcony, his eyes trained on the Liyue horizon. He refuses to look at you, and you realize why when you spot the pink dusting his cheeks, his furrowed brows, and the hands tightly clutching at his heart. You can’t seem to tear your eyes away from the sight. This a side of Xiao you had never been allowed to see before, and it’s one you may never get the chance to see again. You wish you could save the image in your mind forever, a picture for you and you alone.
But your initial shock soon gives way to the realization that you haven’t given him an answer yet. You spend several moments replaying his question over and over again in your mind, trying to make sense of the meaning of his words. When they finally dawn on you, you find your own face growing red, heart fluttering in your chest. You unconsciously mimic Xiao, desperately trying to hide your flushed face from view.
“W-What are you saying, Xiao…?”
He takes in a shaky breath, his previous display of boldness slowly giving way to the shyness you knew him for. “D-Don’t you already know?” he sighed, burying his face in his hands. “Don’t make me say it…”
You open the space between your fingers to peek a glance at Xiao. He’s still too embarrassed to meet your gaze, but little by little, he’s removing the hands guarding his own face. And that’s when your heart skips a beat in your chest.
The setting sun illuminates his golden eyes like beacons of light shooting up through the darkness. His long strands of hair, rustled by the gentle breeze, float towards the sky. His cheeks are the shade of newly bloomed silk flowers, a soft contrast against his white qingxin skin.
Xiao is the beauty of the Liyue mountains, hillsides, valleys, and adeptal abodes carefully crafted into a single entity. He’s the brilliant blue skies, the flower petals floating through the air from the trees. He’s the expansive sea that you could never fully explore. He’s the lanterns rising in the sky during the rite, carrying the wishes of Liyue’s people far and wide. He is someone so beautiful and intricate and yet so far out of your reach.
But you would climb every mountain top in Liyue, cross every unruly sea, and challenge every divine being of Teyvat just for a chance to stay by his side forever.
“Am I really worthy enough to be someone special to you?”
Now it’s Xiao’s turn to stare wide-eyed at you, and you know that he’s wondering if he’s heard you right. His own confession was shocking enough, but to hear one from you right after…
He finally composes himself, and his embarrassment dissolves, turning into a newfound confidence. You can tell that he’s sending you one of his chastising looks as if saying, Don’t think so little of yourself, especially compared to me. He’s told you this a million times before, but you can’t help but wonder if you’re really the kind of person he says you are, if you’re someone that could ever come close to the kindest, pure-hearted human that he sees in his head. He’s just so special to your heart that you cannot imagine anyone outshining him, not even yourself. Is this how he feels about you, too?
“You are the most precious thing in the world to me,” Xiao says, his gaze softening when you finally manage to meet his eyes. “You’re my light in the never-ending darkness. My constant in an ever-changing world. And I would suffer with my karmic debt for the rest of eternity if it meant that I could spend the rest of my life with you.”
His sincerity hits you like cupid’s arrow straight to your heart. “D-Don’t say things like that,” you whisper, covering your hot face with your hands for a second time.
“But I mean it.” Xiao tentatively a few steps towards you, carefully prying your hands away from your eyes. He doesn’t let go. Instead, he squeezes them once, taking in their comforting warmth. His eyes flitter up towards your own as he makes his vow. “I…I don’t know what I would do without you. You’ve given me happiness when all I’ve ever known is despair. You’ve shown me a world full of life and color. You’ve led me off a lonely path and into a place I can call home. [Name]...” He takes in a deep breath, mustering up the courage to finish what he needs to say. He squeezes your hands once more, and keeping his eyes trained on yours, he whispers his admission.
“I love you.”
His confession strikes a chord in your heart as the perfect answer finally falls on your lips. You tug him close, head pressed to his heart as you give him the words he's been waiting for.
“I love you, too, Xiao.”
Don’t you know what you mean to me?
As he holds you there, hands cradling your head, yours wrapped around his waist, the beating of his heart fills you with comfort. You feel the love radiating from him, and it’s so strong, so sure. It’s in his eyes, his expression, in the innermost parts of his soul.
Don’t you know what you mean to me?
You lean your head against Xiao’s chest, closing your eyes and smiling.
In which someone tries their luck with a woman whose boyfriend is right in front of them...
Warnings: Just a smidge bit suggestive at the end of Xiao's
Notes: I actually wrote something short for once!!! lol (a truly incredible feat) but I still hope you enjoy them regardless of word count <3
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
Xiao
One hand was wrapped tightly around your waist, pushing you into Xiao’s chest, the other tightly gripping his spear. Xiao glared at the man with a sort of fury you'd only seen when he fought against his karmic debt. You knew better than to think he would hurt the man, but the threat still hung in the air, the atmosphere turning heavy as the culprit's face slowly turned white.
"She's already told you that she's in a relationship. With me. But if you're stupid enough to still not accept that, perhaps we can settle the matter in a sparring match."
"N-No! That's not n-necessary! I apologize...I'll be going now!"
Xiao simply huffed as the man fled, his grip slowly loosening on his weapon. He tucked it safely behind his back before turning back to you, wordlessly peering into your eyes. His intense expression sent a wave of goosebumps down your arms, leaving you wondering what your beloved adeptus could possibly be thinking in that mind of his.
You didn’t have time to contemplate it when Xiao pulled you flush against him, causing heat to rush into your cheeks. Your heart pounded in your chest as Xiao’s lips brushed against the shell of your ear.
"If everyone is going to assume that you're not taken,” Xiao spoke in a low voice, gradually pulling your body closer and closer against his, “then perhaps I should make the truth more...evident."
His lips drifted down to the nape of your neck, hot breath fanning against your skin and setting your whole body on fire. In words meant for you alone, he whispered a single question.
"Will you allow me?"

Diluc Ragnvindr
Diluc wasn’t a man of superhuman strength, but you swore you saw him nearly crush the last five wine glasses that had passed through his hands.
Though your boyfriend tended to be good at hiding his emotions, his jealousy was an exception. It always showed clearly on his face as his brows furrowed and eyes narrowed, mind plotting the numerous ways he could displace the men who so dared to flirt so blatantly with you.
“Come on, doll! You surely aren’t satisfied with Mr. Uptight here, are ya?” the drunk drawled. He’d been testing the waters for the better part of half an hour, but he’d made the unfortunate mistake of overlooking the typhoon that was slowly closing in on him.
Your attention was stolen by the sound of a full beer pint being slammed onto the counter. Turning your head back towards Diluc, you watched as stared down the man with an anger that burned as bright as his vision’s flames.
But you weren’t expecting your boyfriend to pull you in by the collar of your shirt, shamelessly kissing you hard right in front of the inebriated customer. Your eyes widened in surprise, but it only took a moment for you to melt into the kiss, lips savoring the lingering wine still coating Diluc’s lips.
Diluc slowly pulled away, chest heaving from a mixture of a need for air and agitation.
“As you’ve been told several times before,” he began, his fiery gaze directed towards the drunkard, “[Name] is mine. If you’d like to continue your drinking in my tavern, I suggest you learn to keep your flirtations to yourself.”
The man gulped hard, nodding his head in understanding.
“Good. I wouldn’t want to have to show such a bold display again.”
But when Diluc’s gaze met yours, you saw the mischief hidden inside it.
"Oh, did you get that impression by the way [Name] stares at me? I can't blame her, though. It's not often you find a Fatui Harbinger who's this handsome and capable."
All joking aside, he makes sure to clear the air and let the commenter know that you're just friends. Friends with a Harbinger. Should they ever try to threaten you, they'll have to go through him first :)
The threat is enough to make the person apologize and scurry away in fear. You chastise Childe for being too forward, but he says he just wants to make sure no one tries to hurt you. Who knows? They could be an enemy in disguise.
You do appreciate the thought at least, and you make sure to thank him for having your back. Being friends with a Harbinger does have its perks.
But you're not in this friendship so you have protection from the Fatui. You're friends with Childe because you like him for who he is. Though intimidating at times, he's charming, funny, and most important of all, fiercely loyal.
Pink dusts his cheeks when he recognizes the sincerity of your words. Maybe he's been around too many people who are scared of him or are just being friendly in order to rise up the ranks. So hearing someone genuinely say that they enjoy being close to him? It's a nice feeling.
It makes him think more about the relationship the two of you have, and how you might be the only person that can truly understand him. He already likes being your closest confidant, but if you were something more...well, he'd be the happiest man in all of Teyvat!
He needs time to figure out how to confess to you, or rather, he needs time to bolster up the courage. He's fought many battles, practically made a nation fall to its knees, but in all of these scenarios, he knew he'd come out victorious. Now he finds himself unsure. He can only hope that you'll accept his feelings. He'd love for you to become a part of his family.
His brothers and sisters have welcomed you in already. In fact, they've been prodding him for ages to finally make a move. Maybe it's about time he takes his siblings' advice...
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
Diluc
Diluc promptly corrects the commenter on their mistake. He doesn't want to ignore it and have the whole of Mondstadt thinking he's in a relationship (word about the nation's most eligible bachelor spreads fast).
"[Name] and I are not a couple. She's simply a close friend of mine. We just often go on walks together to catch up when we've been too busy to meet."
Diluc makes sure to remain a gentleman as he clears up the misunderstanding, though. You might not be his lover, but he doesn't mind the mistake at all. It's flattering, in a way. But he personally doesn't think he's good enough for someone as wonderful as you.
"I apologize for getting you into this situation. Rumors about my relationship status are common occurrences. It's almost as if the whole of Mondstadt is eagerly awaiting for me to find someone...for some reason."
Don't even try to tell him that you wouldn't be good enough to be his lover anyways. He will list all the reasons about why you're the greatest person he's ever met, and if anyone deserves to be happy, it's you.
"If you have the time, I'd like to make it up to you. Would you allow me to treat you to dinner at the Winery? Ask for whatever you want. As I've told you before, if it is in my power, I will give it to you."
Please let him treat you, give you gifts, just let him do anything for you. Seeing that smile on your face always manages to make him smile, too. Your happiness is contagious. He'd say it's even more addicting than a good wine.
Anddd this is when he realizes that maybe his affections for you might go deeper than just a simple friendship.
"Please, allow me to escort you over to the Winery. I'll walk in front to take care of any monsters that might come our way." (But in actuality, he's only taking the lead in order to hide his reddened face).
He can handle formidable mitachurls and the Abyss order, but when it comes to matters involving you, it's going to take some time until he can finally reveal his feelings to you, though hopefully not while he's a flustered mess.
Summary: You leave Kaeya and Xiao covered with your lipstick, but for better or worse, you've left marks in places for everyone to see
Notes: I made a set of these headcanons for some of the JJK boys and thought that I should write some for Genshin as well :) But writing this makes me miss using Kaeya T_T I need to put him back on my team!!!
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
Kaeya
He absolutely loves having his skin littered with your lipstick. There's something about being so publicly marked by you that drives him wild
Wears them like a badge, but will unfortunately have to wipe off the marks before he goes to work. He'd wear them all day if he could, but he does have to exercise some sort of restraint. He's representing the knights after all, so he has to be mindful of how he presents himself
But outside of work, he has no problem leaving your lipstick stains on full display. He likes the questions he gets about them or the way Diluc stares at him in disbelief at the Angel's Share. It sparks gossip in the town as everyone is left wondering about who could be the Calvary Captain's lover
Though the stains are your own mark of possession, Kaeya also sees them as his own way of telling the world that he’s yours. He often spots them throughout the day when passing by a mirror or when readjusting his clothes, and the sight always brings a smile to his face. It's a reminder of you, the one that he adores. Just the thought of you makes his heart skip a beat
Yes, he’s still as lovestruck as ever. Sometimes he can’t process how he’s the one that managed to win your heart. Well, he figures you must feel the same way if you ended leaving stains on every inch of him…
When he goes home to you at the end of the day and the marks have faded, he shyly asks you if you would cover him in them all over again. Kaeya, being shy? Oh yes. He has his soft moments. In fact, he still gets butterflies in his stomach every time he sees you <3
But when it comes to him being the one to initiate things…that’s a whole other story
You can practically see the mischief shining in his eyes as he leans next to your ear and coolly whispers, “Perhaps I can return the favor, if you’ll allow me to”
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
Xiao
He's absolutely mortified at first. How careless did you have to be to leave…evidence…of what you’d done for all of Liyue to see?!?!
He was so caught up in the moment (he thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of your lips all over him, but don’t expect him to admit it) that he didn't even stop to consider the damage you'd leave behind
Actually, he didn't even notice he had lipstick marks on him until Verr Goldet pointed them out, all while sporting a pleased smile. I mean, it’s not everyday you see Adeptus Xiao marked by his favorite human…
Xiao sulks the entire day, turning his back to you every time you try to approach him. He’s kind of like an angry cat. Sure, he’s mad at you, but you know he won’t stay that way. He just needs some time to be grumpy and figure out if he’s truly irritated or if, just maybe, he’s only acting out of embarrassment
When he’s finally willing to let you talk to him, you make it clear that you won’t leave him covered in stains again. It seemed like a funny and cute idea to you at first, but you hadn’t really thought through how Xiao might react. So you apologize and promise to keep your emotions in check next time
But it’s Xiao who ends up surprising you. “I don’t really mind…” he whispers, cheeks turning pink as he avoids your gaze, “as long as they're left in places only I can see…”
Oh. It seems that embarrassment isn’t the only reason he wants them hidden. Is this a rare peek into Xiao’s own possessiveness? You can see the gears turning in Xiao’s mind as you ponder his words, and you know he’s already come up with an appropriate way to seek vengeance
“Of course,” you answer, guiding him towards you, “And I gladly accept whatever repercussions my actions may entail…”
Summary: You accidentally leave them covered in lipstick stains, for better or worse.
Notes: I started reading the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and now I have the JJK boys on the brain :,)

Fushiguro Megumi
Mortified. Absolutely and utterly mortified.
"You left marks where people can see them?!?!?" "It wasn't intentional, but I think they look nice on you :)" "?????!!!!!"
REFUSES to go out in public looking like this. He loves you, and he doesn't mind you kissing him everywhere (he actually thinks he likes it a bit too much), but he is NOT going to leave your lipstick stains on full display.
He's in front of a mirror frantically trying to scrub them off before anyone can see them, but of course Itadori decides he also needs to use the bathroom at the same place and time.
Upon seeing the very obvious pink stains, Itadori stands there for a moment like :0 before shouting, "SENSEI! KUGISAKI! FUSHIGURO IS COVERED IN [NAME]'S LIPSTICK!!!"
Megumi is pondering if it's worth getting expelled over killing his idiot classmate when Gojo and Nobara burst into the bathroom at record time.
Once they see the damage, they do NOT shut up about it. And they likely won't for the next several days. Poor Megumi will never hear the end of it.
And Gojo being the gossiper that he is spreads this newfound information to all of the other students and staff :))) He even sends pictures of the aftermath to all of his group chats and promptly gets blocked.
He even makes a lipstick-smeared Megumi his wallpaper because he just finds the situation so amusing dkbskwnwms he's an embarrassing dad.
Megumi will side-eye you for a while after that, silently warning you to not mark him up all over again. But he's got a soft spot for you and he eats up any affection you give him, so don't be surprised if he lets you test out your new lipstick all over him again.
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
Gojo Satoru
Shameless. Not embarrassed about the stains one bit. In fact, he purposely dresses so that everyone can see the lipstick marks all over his skin.
Normally he's the one to shower you in love, so whenever you reciprocate, especially in such an emboldened way, it just inflates his already huge ego.
He shows up to class with a low cut, partially buttoned shirt, constantly touching or rubbing his neck to bring attention to the evidence you'd left behind because he likes the attention.
Itadori and the gang are left with their mouths hanging open and shaking their heads in disdain. They know their teacher is a little bit eccentric and self-absorbed, but this is on a totally different level.
Principal Yaga calls Gojo during the day and yells so loudly that you can hear him from the other end of the main building. Let's just say it's not a good look for the school to have a teacher that's so unapologetically brazen.
"WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING STRUTTING AROUND LOOKING LIKE THAT?!" "It would be rude to not showcase the artist's finished work <3"
And indeed he does showcase it in every way possible. By that I mean he's taking mirror selfies and sending them to his coworkers, much to your embarrassment.
"[Name], don't play all innocent now. Someone so good and pure wouldn't leave her lover marked so passionately~" "I am going to go crawl in a hole and cry."
You can't stay mad at him forever, though. Even if he refuses to wash off your lipstick stains, there's a part of you that appreciates how he'll wear your love for all the world to see. It's almost sweet, in a way. You suppose you could let him off the hook just this once. But that doesn't mean he'll let you get away with your crimes so easily.
"It's only right for me to return the favor :)" Well, you definitely walked yourself right into this one...
Yes I am writing for Levi Ackerman once again but are we really surprised
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
It was supposed to be a night that Levi spent his time looking over the last details for the next mission, double-checking paperwork for supply requests, and ensuring the Scouts had enough gas and blades to spare. He was supposed to be sitting down at his desk, brows furrowed in concentration, internally groaning over the workload that seemed to never end. No one was supposed to walk into his office and distract him, especially when he was in the middle of his work.
Unfortunately for him, he had a hard time resisting you. So instead of curling his fingers around a quill and signing documents, he threaded them through your hair, pulling you flush against him after each moment you had to part for air.
“I thought you said you were busy,” you teased, your smile only growing wider when you spotted the disdain on Levi’s face.
“I was, but then someone decided to come in here and throw my plans out the window.”
“Would you really rather be glued to your paperwork or would you rather have your lips glued to mine~”
“The nerve that you have sometimes is appalling.”
You threw your head back in laughter, hands still wrapped loosely around Levi’s neck. “I am quite the distraction, I know. But seriously, you’re always working so hard. I just wanted to get your mind off stuff for a while...but if I’m genuinely being a nuisance, I’ll leave you to finish up your work.”
Levi gave you a long, hard look before leaning back in and briefly pressing his lips against yours, the faint touch giving you butterflies. “You’re never a nuisance. Really...I appreciate that you’re always looking out for me.”
To this you couldn’t hide your smile. You pressed your forehead against Levi’s, closing your eyes as you relished in his touch. It wasn’t often that you had the chance to be so lovey with him, to truly be alone without wondering if one of the Scouts was going to burst into the room to announce the presence of titans. These moments were few and far between, and you were determined to make the most of them.
“Have I ever told you that you’re absolutely gorgeous,” you breathed, sliding your fingers through Levi’s silky strands of black hair. “There’s no way a man like you isn’t popular with the ladies.”
Levi snorted and rolled his eyes at your statement, but you were able to catch a glimpse of a smile on his lips. “The last thing I want is a bunch of women fawning over me like Hange does with her titans.”
“Well, I guess that’s good ‘cause that means…” You traced your fingers along Levi’s jawline, gently pulling him closer to place your lips against the shell of his ear, “you’re all mine.”
You swore you could feel Levi actually shiver beneath your fingertips, and his strong reaction emboldened you even more.
“What’s wrong, Captain? Cat got your tongue?”
“The nerve of you,” Levi groaned, but before you could utter a response, he crashed his lips back onto yours.
His hands fitted perfectly to the curve of your waist, his touch against your skin searing like flames. Your mind was clouded, knees ready to give out from under you at any time.
It wasn’t that long ago that you’d wondered if Levi would ever work up the confidence to kiss you like this. After all, he was always so hesitant to invest himself wholly in someone or something, terrified that they’d be cruelly ripped away from him like all the others before them. That fear always lingered in the back of his mind, but with you, he’d made up his mind: you wouldn’t die in the hellish world, even if it meant that he had to die in your place. He’d protect you, mind, body, and soul, and you would one day experience the freedom found beyond the walls. So he would cherish you, care for you, lavish you with all the love in his body, completely. Or else he’d spend a lifetime regretting it.
It was Levi’s turn to leave you flustered as he pressed a chaste kiss to your neck, leaving you gasping in shock. His eyes grew wide in panic as he pulled back, still holding onto your waist.
“Was that too forward? I’m sorry. I wasn’t trying to go anywhere with that…I just thought…”
His fear turned to confusion as you broke into laughter. “No, not at all! I’m just so surprised my dear Levi is being so sweet to me.”
Levi’s cheeks flushed upon hearing you refer to him as dear, and suddenly your shy lover had returned. “I really don’t know what I’m doing. This is the first time I’ve ever been with someone. And I’m not good at anything that doesn’t involve slicing up titans or making tea.”
“You know I do,” you replied, kissing his cheek. “So much.”
You smiled and shook your head. You gingerly cupped Levi’s face, your smile growing as he leaned into your touch. “I’m no more experienced than you are. It’s all still very new to me, too. But I don’t let my uncertainties control me. I just focus on the fact that I love you, and I let that love lead me on.”
Levi gaped at you as the weight of your confession hit him. “You…”
Levi’s face burned hot, and you watched how he considered hiding his face in your neck or returning your sincerity. “[Name]...I…”
“You don’t have to say it. I know that you—”
A soft gasp escaped your lips as Levi’s hands trailed up to your cheeks and he met your eyes. His expression softened, a hint of a smile on his lips as he caressed your skin with this thumb. “[Name], I love you.”
Tears brimmed at your eyes, your soul touched by his rare display of vulnerability. Taking hold of his hands, you squeezed them once. “Thank you, Levi.”
He pulled back just far enough so his forehead rested against yours, your hands still intertwined. In that moment, time slowed down, the rest of the world just a blur. All that mattered was the man who had stolen your heart, who had given you so much love that you could barely contain the happiness inside your chest. You loved him so, so much. There was no way you could express the depths of your adoration for him.
“Captain Levi, we were wondering—UM!”
You and Levi quickly turned towards the doorway of his office, finding a wide-eyed Conny and Armin beneath it.
“Please forgive us, Captain Levi, [Name]!” Armin yelled, he and Conny quickly bowing.
“We didn’t mean to interrupt you! Please, Captain Levi, don’t hurt us…”
Levi groaned and rolled his eyes, his hands hesitantly slipping out of yours. “You better have a good reason for entering my office unannounced.”
The two scouts sent each other another terrified glance before you stepped in to save the day.
“Levi, why don’t we go hang out with the others for a while? We’ve been cooped up in this room for hours. We could use some fresh air.”
Levi kept his eyes glued to the boys but eventually relented with a sigh. “I need another cup of tea anyways.”
Armin and Conny gave you grateful smiles before they quickly slipped out of the room, you and Levi trailing behind them.
“I’m going to have to start locking this door.”
You rolled your eyes, laughing in spite of yourself. “You’re not going to show them your soft side, too, Captain?”
“Uh…if you did that, the others might get the wrong idea…”
“They can think whatever they want. Maybe the thoughts of what could be going on will be enough to keep them away.”
“I don’t have a soft side.”
Though he stated it so matter-of-factly, Levi found your hand and laced his fingers through yours, refusing to let go of it the whole way back to the mess hall.
