Master post of my Bylaude headcanons:

-Claude is the only person who has learned to read Byleth like an open book. The slightest twitch in the eye, a minor change in speech, and Claude knows exactly what she’s feeling. Nobody else can understand how he does it.

-He’s also the only one who understands her dry sense of humor.

-Claude liked to use the nickname ‘By’ for Byleth.

-Claude’s white wyvern was one that took orders from no one. Even with Claude it took many years and a great difficulty to tame the beast. Byleth, however, was able to gain its trust within and hour. Claude was rather jealous when this happened.

-During the time that Claude was in Almyra he would often tell stories to the little children about the beautiful “Ashen Demon” and his adventures with her, to the point of where she became an Almyran legend.

-Byleth’s favorite scent is Pine Needles. And Claude smells like pine needles.

-Byleth always feared losing the ring Claude gave her, so much that she eventually put it on a chain and wore it around her neck whenever she was in battle.

-During his time in Almyra Claude would sometimes miss Byleth so much that he would feel this deep ache in his chest. When that happened, (often at night), he would go out and look at the stars. He would often tell himself that he was looking at the same stars Byleth was looking at.

-When this happened he was also known to kiss the ring that she had given him. It also became a habit to do so before battle for “good luck”.

-During Claude’s time away, Byleth developed a taste for Almyran Pine tea.

-When Claude returned, leading his army in against the rebel forces that had Byleth cornered, he did all he could to make his entrance as dramatic as possible.

He swaggered up the steps to the front of the castle, the shouts of his forces behind him, walking toward Byleth and her stony face.

“Come’on. You didn’t give up, on me coming back did you?”

For a second she stood silent. Claude began to fear the worst. Was she angry? Did she hate him? Did she even remember him? Now that was a silly thought. Or was it? He did a very good job at hiding his thoughts behind his smile.

“It’s rude to keep a lady waiting you know.”

It’s said in such a monotone voice, but Claude knows her too well by now. The slight tug at the corner of her mouth, the crinkles around her eyes...

He can’t contain himself anymore, and rushes forward to embrace her in a kiss

-They actually hold two weddings for the couple, one in Fódlan and one in Almyra. The one in Fódlan is held in Garreg Mach. It’s a grand feast, with all of Byleth’s subjects attending. All of the old Golden Deer students get front row seats.

The second wedding is much less formal, and has MUCH better food. There is singing, dancing, and feasting throughout all of Almyra for many days after the wedding.

- During this time Byleth finally gets to see Claude’s homeland and meet his parents.

-Byleth and Claude are seen as a very... interesting pair by the people of Fódlan. But somehow Byleth’s sarcasm and stony-faced demeanor seems to balance well with Claude’s bright and flirtatious attitude.

-Claude loves to introduce Byleth at every chance he can just so he can say “this is my WIFE, Byleth VON RIEGAN” in a very proud voice.

-Claude is the world’s BIGGEST romantic. He’s the type to write Byleth sappy poetry and bring her flowers.

-In public Byleth is the least affectionate woman you could ever meet. But in private she’s actually quite a softy. She likes to lay on Claude’s chest and listen to his heartbeat. He finds it funny how fascinated she is with it, not having one of her own

-He also never uses Byleth’s real name-only pet names. Most commonly, ‘my love’, though he also likes to use my deer ‘my dear’

-Claude LOVES having his hair played with. If Byleth has had enough of putting up with his shenanigans all she’ll have to do is simply run her fingers through his hair and he’ll turn to a pile of mush

-Claude loves to braid Byleth’s hair, and will do it whenever he gets the chance.

-Sleep doesn’t come easily to either of them, both still having lingering nightmares from the war. When this happens, they’ve taken to having long wyvern rides in the night sky. Sometimes Byleth will fall asleep while they’re riding and he’ll have to carry her back to bed.

-Claude’s wyvern is ferociously jealous, and when it sees Claude and Byleth kissing it will shove its head between the two like a dog

-Despite the fact that Byleth has an entire crew of the kingdom’s most renowned cooks, she prefers it when her husband cooks for her. Claude loves making her his favorite Almyran comfort food.

-When Claude blushes, his ears turn bright red. Byleth finds this absolutly adorable. It’s very hard to get him embarrassed though, but she savors each time she manages to catch him off guard.

All y’all are sleeping on a Byleth and Claude Tangled AU. It is literal perfection, so I posed to you:

Byleth as Rapunzel with beautiful, long green hair (which we were robbed of post-time skip)

Sothis as a tiny dragon in place of Pascal

Lady Rhea as a manipulative mother figure

Claude as mother-duffing Flynn Rider

Literally all the characters in a bar singing about have they have DREAMS

Claude getting really into the Kingdom Dance and pulling Byleth in (like the ball)

Claude saying, “You were my new dream.”

“And you were mine.”

Like it fits so well, I’m obsessed.
