Head canon that ignis has asthma

I got this headcanon while doing my asthma treatment (stupid lungs)I kinda was thinking about episode ignis while thinking of it because of how winded he gets while fighting in some scenes (ik it's mostly exhausion). But what if ignis has asthma but has exercised enough caution to ensure it wouldn't interfere with his duty and battles.

He takes his daily inhaler and exercises to strengthen his lungs more when he's younger. But tried to hide it from the bro's.

Noctis finds out first when they are children. He's running around and ignis is chasing him, they're being kids and having fun then ignis suddenly starts wheezing and noctis doesn't understand what's wrong. Ignis point's at their bags further down the courtyard and noctis drags it over quickly ,tripping over his feet. Ignis still wheezing frantically searches the pockets and pulls his inhaler out and uses it and slowly is able to breathe normally. Noctis is still panicking and ignis explains what happened. Noctis hugs him tight afterwards and whenever they're playing he stops to make sure ignis is ok. This is what makes ignis decide to try and make is asthma manageable and more controlled.

Gladio finds out second while him and a 15 yr old ignis are sparring. It's like any normal spar they usually have nothing different the training room is just a tad colder then normal. Ignis' lungs do not like the slightly colder air and he slowly starts wheezing more and more while they spar. He tries to ignore it, tells gladio it's nothing when he starts to hear the strain in his breathing. Gladio realizes eventually what's happening when he pins iggy and hears how bad he's wheezing. He run's to his gym bag and pulls out an inhaler and go's back to ignis and helps him take it. Ignis asks's Gladio why he has an inhaler and gladio explains how iris has asthma so he always carries one on him, claurus does to, in case of an emergency. Gladio then scolds iggy for not telling him that he has asthma. Ignis explains how he's had it under control for almost 6 years and how he had been getting better at managing it so he felt it was not needed to bring up. Him and gladio acknowledge that ignis' asthma and cold air do NOT get along and gladio say's he'll take the necessary precautions to help ignis in case of emergencies like he does with iris.

Prompto is the last one to find out and it's while they're on the road during the game. It's one of ignis' worst asthma attacks. It's colder then usual and while doing a hunt ignis got caught in a freeze spell that prompto threw too close to him. It's a terrible combo. Gladio subtly asks him if he's ok knowing how the cold effects his asthma,ignis feels fine at first just a little winded and he blames it on the battle. It get's worse through out the day. Noctis has noticed and keeps glancing at him, watches as he subtly goes of to take his inhaler. By nightfall you can hear Ignis's wheezing more and more and it's so cold they can see their breath. Ignis collapses suddenly in a coughing fit and can barely breathe in prompto starts freaking out. Gladio and noctis are at ignis' side and when his inhaler doesn't work gladio tells noct that they need to stay in the caravan since luckily they are in hammerhead. While noctis pays for the caravan gladio and prompto carry a wheezing ignis inside. Noctis shows up just as gladio pulls a fucking nebulizer from the armiger "why is that even in there????" "in case this ever happened it's iris' spare that she gave to ignis just in case when we left" prompto meanwhile is holding ignis's hand in one hand while rubbing his back with the other,he's panicking and shaking and doesn't know what to do or how to help. Gladio finally has it set up and it hums to life while ignis breathes the medicine in. Prompto can feel and see the strain slowly leave ignis as he takes the treatment. Once it's done and ignis can breathe properly Prompto asks what caused the attack "iggy's lungs hate the cold. I suspect between the frigid temperatures and the freeze spell his lungs eventually gave up." as gladio explains this prompto looks more and more terrified " oh astral's its all my fault" "im so sorry iggy" " i should of payed more attention" leave promptos mouth in rapid fire. Hands still shaking slightly from the medicine in his system ignis hugs prompto close and assures him it's alright. It's not his fault. He strokes Prompto's hair and kisses his forhead and rubs his hand down Prompto's back. After that they make sure to keep ignis's inhailer handy when it's extra cold and try for a hotel or caravan lest they have a repeat.

PrompTis: What are Ignis and the other’s thoughts on their relationship?

Ignis is super supportive and so is gladio ( even if he teases them a lot about it) when noct’s dad finds out prompto has a meltdown and thinks his dad will make them break up. and then regis request’s ignis to bring prompto to see him and prompto is pretty sure he’s gonna be murdered and buried where no one could ever find him. when he gets there claurus is standing menacingly behind regis and prompto is shaking like a leaf. imagine the look on his face when regis stands up and walks towards him , completely stone faced, and puts a hand on his shoulder and grips it firmly and say’s “welcome to the family!” with the stupidest grin prompto has ever seen and he nearly pee’s himself in a strange combination of fear and relief. even scary old claurus starts cackling in the background at the look on his face. Prompto can see how him and gladio are related. noctis suggests they tell Luna since Luna has been hinting at trying to romance a strapping young guard *cough* nyx *cough* needless to say luna is ecstatic! prompto’s parents though are not as accepting or approving. they kick prompto out after finding out and prompto calls noctis crying asking if he can stay with him and explaining what happened. Noctis of course agree’s and shows up not only with ignis and gladio but his dad claurus and the damn near entire fucking crowns guard cause he is extra af and wants to make prompto’s parents regret making his bf cry. it works :) .
