I joke about clawayla a lot but considering it realistically I think it would be like: claire has a mental breakdown because she doesn’t know what polyamory is because she’s a 38 year old woman from wisconsin and feels like she’s having thought crimes about cheating after every interaction with kayla. and owen goes to kayla begging on his hands and knees like please bisexual jesus my wife has locked herself in the bathroom and she is muttering in tongues. so kayla comes to diagnose the situation and she explains to claire what polyamory is (kayla is also 38 but she’s from detroit so it cancels out) and claire is like ooogghh it’s like being bisexual but for relationships and kayla is like… not really but as long as you’re not locked in the bathroom anymore. with the realization that you genuinely can love more than one person at once claire is much happier and she is ready to negotiate polyamorous dynamics. kayla has always wanted claire carnally so she is gladly getting in on that action. and despite being bisexual kayla isn’t actually that into white men so she doesn’t get with owen but through claire they develop a strange queerplatonic-esq third thing. it’s like when two guys want the same girl so badly it becomes slightly homoerotic in nature. and claire isn’t complaining because she is the hinge and most perfect princess in the world living the most literal interpretation of bisexuality
