✨How to make these art dolls✨
Materials
Craft wire
Thin craft wire
Tin foil
Oven bake clay
Paint of your choice
Paint brushes
Paper plate
Paper towel
Bowl of water
Pliers with wire cutters
Yarn of your choice
Stuffing
Mod podge
Step 1
Make a drawing of what you want your doll to look like. The drawing should have a side profile, a forward profile, and should be fully colored.
I typically make the head and paws out of clay
Step 2
Take your craft wire and bend it into the shape of your design. To make the wire stronger make it twice the length you need, fold it in half then twist it together. Leave extra length for where the head and paws will go.
To secure limbs to the body, wrap thin craft wire around it
Step 3
Roll some tin foil into a ball on the armature (this is the head). Roll out a sheet of clay and layer it on to the head. Continue by adding on the facial features (snout, cheeks, ears, eyes, etc)
After this make the paws then stick them onto the armature and secure with more clay.
Step 4
Preheat your oven to 275 degrees and bake for 30 minutes. Make sure your doll doesn’t fall over in the oven!
When it’s done take it out of the oven and let cool.
Step 5
Take your paint, paper towel, paint brushes, paper plate, and bowl of water and lay them out on a table.
Put your paint on the plate, the bowl of water is for washing your brushes and the paper towel is for drying.
When your done painting, after the paint drys paint on the mod podge.
Step 6
Take your yarn and glue the start of its neck. Use the yarn to wrap on stuffing if you need any.
After that just wrap it around until you’re happy with how it looks.
Done!
After that you should be done!
If you have any questions I’d be more that happy to answer them :)
