If you’re looking for Ford plant workers in the Kansas City area — or just can’t sleep — this diner in the Northland is your spot.
Nelle Belle’s (pronounced “nell-ee bells”) on U.S. Highway 69 in Claycomo boasts a regular late-night crowd from the nearby Ford assembly plant.
“Some of them are getting off their shifts but some are just lonely,” says Dixie Edwards, who has been running Nelle Belle’s for 23 years. “If they can’t sleep or something, they know they can come down and get coffee, just sit and chat."
