@Toydrill was an early enthusiastic voice for my 1990-2000 backstory Billy & White concept and is, to date, the only fan artist to fanart-my-fanart.
So I fanarted that fanart of my fanart.
I've had this in my drafts for literally FOUR YEARS. The MOST Unfinished of the Unfinished. @Toydrill was a literal CHILD when they made this!

Crystal Pepsi, first in the inexplicable "clear soda" trend, which also came in cans, where you couldn't even SEE it. In high school, some joker told me it tasted like baloney so I never tried it.
come for the Van Halen stay for the achingly "just invented digital type" lettering
From the same years (1992-1994) in their backstory as is depicted on the acrylic keychain that I had made and is still for sale, by the way...
→ Double-sided Slacker Billy and Grunge Pete Keychain. STILL MANY LEFT.
I really love White's pose in Toydrill's composition, especially the arm with the dangling fingers— recreated faithfully in my take. Also the perfect "bad roommate" move of sitting on laundry. Clean or dirty, it's just awful. I waxed philosophical about it in 2023 —
I especially enjoy that Pete's sitting on a pile of laundry (presumably Billy's since none of the clothes are white or pink) despite the couch being RIGHT THERE. That's real dedication to being a lazy slob.
— and in the same post accidentally discovered the Crystal Pepsi vs. Clear Tab corporate assassination that Coke pulled in the 1990s, setting up the cola choice for this re-fanarting.
This ad campaign (revealed at the '93 SuperBowl) just recreates the Van Halen music video
Their drawing did have lasting influence— I started drawing cuffs on Billy's cords after seeing them here. A real "why didn't I think of that" moment.
I don't know how much Billy & White stuff I'll make this year (I keep trying to quit), but at least I cleared out some of the half-done stuff from my drafts folder.
