anyway, did you know the first ambulances and paramedic services in the US were an all black organization from Pittsburgh that was formed because the only options to get to the hospital were to drive yourself (not possible for some people, also high chance of dying on route) or to call the police (high wait times in poor black neighborhoods, chance of racist violence)? if you ever want to get really, really angry at the US healthcare system, look up Freedom House Ambulance Service.
