The Expansion of Clear Wireless Internet
Comcast Cable, Time Warner Cable striving regardless of not having European business. Who could have predicted this coming? Were you aware that Comcast Cable Television Corp and Time Warner Cable Inc have rocketed up to the very pinnacle of the S&P 500 media index as of this year, flying right in the face of all those who has desperately been trying to predict the death of cable. For what reason? There’s a large point of interest for these two large companies and it's this: they don’t handle business within Europe. Avoiding that enormous pitfall that’s over there on the other side of the pond is actually pretty profitable. This makes them incredibly appealing to investors, who in these tumultuous times are desperate to avoid anything pertaining to any of the crap that’s hitting the fan over in Ireland, Spain, Italy and Greece. This doesn’t take into account the many challenges that cable companies are facing, but if you listen to some portfolio directors, this is a great thing compared to other companies doing business in Europe or Latin America. The greatest aspect for investors is that cable isn’t actually facing any serious challenges. The idea that customers would switch to satellite or Netflix services is exaggerated at best, partially because most regular folks receive internet from the same place they can view those amazing Adult Swim cartoons. Yet, even though all the scare plots that cable naysayers are launching against the industry, the business plan is remaining strong and changing where need be, in areas such as TV Everywhere that help people in gaining access to whatever they want whenever they want, just like Hulu and Netflix try to do. That’s the thing about Time Warner Cable and Comcast, not to mention Cox Cable and Charter Cable – they are very intelligent. As a matter of fact, they’re pretty smart to still be involved in a game so many people think is so dangerous. What’s really worrisome is bankrupting your country with socialist programs and then sinking the rest of your continent because you can’t pay your bills. Ouch. But remember something that Jesus showed us – living in a world with a mind filled with worry isn’t going to do anything for anyone. Rather than fearing the imminent downfall of Europe’s whole economy (which may not happen anyway) perhaps focus on the good things in life, like your family and friends, breathing clean air and enjoying regular access to food. But further than that and still in regards to the cable industry, rather than fearing or hoping that it will collapse inward on itself, keep in mind the positive adaptations that are waiting for you. Largely in part due to Google Fiber, your net connection is proposed to double, triple, maybe even go up faster for hundreds of times the speed you used to pay. Plus, it’s likely to become much, much cheaper. Cable TV programming will one day all be cloud based, that’s for sure. But Time Warner and Comcast Cable will be just as likely to offer that service to you, but it’s likely to be much cheaper than what you normally pay. Economies fall by the wayside, but convenience is forever. Think about these kinds of things and don’t let worry consume your life.
