Meet Ludwik! Tonight this sweet little 3 day old baby is moving to The Pipsqueakery all the way from Mississippi! First, our friend @redbeardswench picked him up in Mississippi and drove him all the way to Tuscaloosa, AL. Then our friend Kaycee of Bunny Puffs Exotic Refuge picked him up there and is currently driving him to her house in Nashville, TN where I am resting in my car waiting for them to start the 4 hour trip back home. We all pulled together at the last minute because this little guy has a very deformed face including a cleft palate. Because of that he hasn't been able to eat without aspirating and once the clicking started we all knew we had to get him to us ASAP because he was at serious risk for aspiration pneumonia. Luckily, I'm all prepared for this type of thing with our new fancy car ICU to keep him at the correct temp for the last leg of his trip to The Pipsqueakery. His chances are not excellent, but he's very sassy and has quite the will to fight. I have a sneaking suspicion our vet will be excited to attempt this repair if we can get him to again weight and keep him in good health until he is big enough. We are only able to do this type of thing because of all of you and your donations. Transport is expensive, his vet care is likely to be very expensive to repair his face, his ongoing dental needs will be extensive, and even just the critical care he will need to eat will likely cost over $100 a month.
