May I ask more about your headcanon that Cleo and Nico become friends? I love thinking about it! Nico needs more friends lol. So far I like imagining that 1. Khufu decides he likes Nico, bc of his whole "likes things ending in O" thing, and 2. Cleo and Nico each think the other is a regular mortal at first, up until Nico happens to meet Waltnubis and they both start eyeing each other suspiciously.

okay, I won't lie, this hc started during like the 2014 world cup or so, and it hangs on like a domino row of hcs:

both nico and cleo being huge fans of football and playing well

nico --after BoO-- goes to live with percy, sally and paul (and eventually estella)

BAG and goode being "sister schools" and sharing a sports field (BAG's since it's mentioned in TKC that they have lots of greenery)

goode making children choose a sport

so then, I don't doubt nico knows osiris and anubis, but that wouldn't make him know the NY nome necessarily. nico has a new home and a new school, he's still shite at making friends so he gravitates towards the misfits. he has to pick a sport, he goes with the one he was good at as a child

as part of their sharing the sports grounds they all practice --in different fields but same grounds--. regardless of how happy nico may be playing his sport again, it doesn't make monsters less likely to try and eat him, so he sees some weird shit happening behind one of the changing buildings, and runs to fight it and-- wait, who's this girl who's also doing some mambo jambo with a boomerang? is that a-- a person with a screwdriver head???

and so, he's a gentleman, he's a hero, he can help! and so he does, they defeat the enemy and they're both like "??" they introduce themselves, but are both awkward fuckers so they don't exactly talk much

that is until once nico's late --this time a monster of his division on the way to a match-- and passes by one of the other fields and sees cleo play.. and she's brilliant! and then he gets over his shyness and he's all "omg we should mix my one other friend and you and whoever else can actually play in this country of people who don't know how to play proper football the violent version you cowardly yanks!!"

and there you go, friendship :)

not when there's international championships and brazil plays italy, they're enemies then

I personally think Cleo from Kane Chronicles should be Arab Brazillian.

As a brazillian, I think that Latino representation in general sucks since they only portray characters that look like Marco Diaz, ignoring the gigantic racial diversity of Latin America. Latinos that are Asian (by that I’m referring to the whole continent) descendente have it worse, honestly, gringos barely acknowledge their existence.

Arabs are a relevant group in Brazil, despite not being as numerous as black people for example. We adopted parts of Arabic languages into our own languages (Alface, lettuce is an example, with the usage of the prefix “Al”), we eat Arab food (kibbehs are a classic here, and one of the biggest fast food names in Brazil, Habibs, serves Arab food), etc.

Cleo is Egyptian descendant, an Arab country, it makes sense for her to be Arab brazillian considering how many Arab immigrants came to Brazil, including people from Egypt.

Honorable mention to my friend, who is Lebanese descent and inspired me to do this post. That being said, that’s why I belive Cleo should be Arab brazillian.

they would watch together and fight AT THE SAME TIME (i went to summer camp a few years ago during the last world cup and we all watched it on the telly and everyone wanted to kill everyone and was super invested at the same time)
