there’s a chance someone already suggested this but one of my theories is it’s jinx and she gets both silco and astrid ties them to chairs and makes them make up with one another but it’s done in the “both wake up in a strange room don’t know what’s happening, start arguing and then eventually they talk things out naturally” way and then jinx skulks out of the shadows like “okay now kiss”

This might sound weird, especially since I’m asking you, but here I go: is it wrong or not to believe in the Goddess, but not in the Church?

That you've asked me is more promising than you realize. You know my opinion of the Church and its faith is unfavorable, to put it lightly, yet you still sought me out despite that—or feasibly due to it. Therefore, I'll attempt to answer you as civilly as I am able.

The Church would invariably say it was wrong, that one is the same as the other. You should expect to be excommunicated at best if you unwisely approach any of the faithful with such an inquiry.

As for my perception of the seemingly contradictory way of thinking, I wouldn't consider it wrong so much as misguided. If you believe that the Church is flawed and undeserving of your faith while the goddess remains infallible, that begs an exceptionally pointed question: Why did she allow her worshippers to be misled by the corrupt?

A true leader does not abandon those they were sworn to protect. They do not require prayer or tribute to be deemed deserving of rescue. Yet this is exactly what she has done, and those who need her most are frequently left vulnerable and ignored.

There is no rational explanation for maintaining your faith in the goddess while discarding your faith in the Church.

But... I can understand where one might begin with accepting that the institution is flawed before taking the final necessary step to acknowledging the goddess' incompetence or indifference. It hardly matters which.
