Then heard another question what about Byleth? She obviously caries power that is closely linked to Sothis if not because of her what if the entire issue is Sothis is dead? The same issue here with other religions god supposedly watches over us and such but when bad stuff happens were is god? I take it more as a way of comfort not everyone can stand on there own some need that tether to help them. Hubert would you deny them that? Especially sinse you aren't them.

If Sothis is truly dead, then what comfort is there in her protection? Instead of leaving them to cling to her absence for support that will never come, I am forcing them to find it elsewhere. The Church of Seiros has fractured our nations and divided us to limit our strength and growth. When we stand alongside those in need around us, humanity is only better for it. 

A person who prays to be fed will go hungry. A person who toils under a corrupt noble to be fed expends more energy than they receive. Yet a community that feeds its needy is improved with every act of charity shared among them. The people will not ask what this person has done to deserve food. They will not demand compensation where it is undue. They will not leverage this person’s need well beyond what they are owed. A pious person believes the goddess will help the needy while a charitable one will do so themselves. I know which of the two I prefer.

Waiting for some removed deity that is unwilling or unable to aid us will only yield more suffering. Because if no one will stand for you when your need is greatest, assuming that you will be saved or ruined by the whims of a goddess, that is how the corrupt and wicked operate unchecked.

But people will not leave the safety of ignorance willingly. They must be dragged out to face the truth, and it will be painful regardless. Growth requires discomfort. Fortunately for them, this will be carried out by the merciful hand of Her Majesty and not the inhuman creatures who inflicted that on her.

I hope you will be ready to atone for your sins. I think that some divine retribution is in order in such a corrupted, depraved soul as yours. The Church only saves those who walk the path of good and righteousness, and you, young man, are beyond the point of salvation. May the goddess Sothis punish your tainted soul in the eternal flames, where you will burn until the end of time.

My sins are mine to bear, and you would do better to examine your own if you’d like to survive this war. But if you are adamant on bringing me to justice with your goddess, you will be waiting for a very long time for that ‘divine retribution’. As one who prayed to her years ago without end, I can assure you that she is not listening, she is not coming, and she cares little for your suffering. You are welcome to see to the matter of putting my twisted soul to rest yourself, however.

And if you require guidance on how to justify such an act in your mind, you might consult your archbishop on the matter. She is quite well-versed in rationalizing atrocities for her own selfish interests. 

I am prepared to burn for the choices I’ve made. The question is: are you? I am aware that the path I’ve carved has left me stained beyond recognition or recovery. Your ignorance to the cruelty of the empty religion that you defend is a far greater crime. In the end, we will burn together.

...So. I imagine you are quite busy huh? Plotting to wipe off an entire race does that... heh. Actually... Hubert, let me ask you a better question. Do you think even the worst person can change? That if they are shown undeniable proof of their wrong doings, that they can change for the better? Heh... perhaps I'm being overly optimistic about you. But let me put it this way. The path you are going down isn't gonna get you happiness. If you keep down this path... heh. Never was much forspoilers;)

I am indeed, but I can spare a moment to indulge your shortsighted comments. The Nabateans have more than proven their unwillingness to show compassion for races that are not their own, and we are merely returning that favor. If they were to lay down their arms, then we could consider options outside of certain extinction.

As for your second question, yes. I do believe any person can change, even the worst among us, but there must be an intention to do so. My father made his choice, and so has Rhea and her blind followers. Anyone can deny the proof of their misdeeds, no matter how accurate and unshakable. Someone who refuses to admit to the horrors they’ve carried out as anything less than the atrocities they are will always remain as such. Having a worthy cause for these dark deeds does not render them less abhorrent. The moment the perpetrator denies that, they are a lost cause.

Regardless, your supposed optimism is unwelcome. The changes you desire to see in me would no doubt place me at the heel of your corrupt, false religious leaders preying on humanity. If not simply in a grave at the archbishop’s behest. The path I walk, I chose from devotion. My own happiness is irrelevant. As long as no one suffers from the oppression of a pretender goddess and her power-mad followers, or the pretentious nobles borne of that corruption, I will be satisfied. 

Your unspoken threat is as meaningless as your faith. I hope you come to your senses and choose the right side before it is too late to surrender.
