H&M CLEVERCARE LABEL
H&M encourages customers to make sustainable choices while using and disposing of products by providing a clevercare label that includes information about garment care. This aims to use products for as long as possible and offering opportunities for reuse and recycling, rather than disposal.
Have You Ever Known that Global Warming is Connected with Fashion?
My friend asked me a question few days before —— “Do you wanna go to Maldives with us on this summer vacation before those islands sink under the sea totally?”
If you are a student like me, you must have heard thousands of times of this topic, Global Warming, since primary school. Perhaps you also done much research and written dozens of papers about how can human save our planet and stop it. You might know taking public traffic is better than driving people’s own cars, or using less papers and growing more trees can speed down global warming process.
It is a little boring, isn’t it? My little brother always complains with me about this solemn but drowsy topic because his geographic teacher likes to give them assignments about carbon dioxide, greenhouse effect, global warming, etc. To be honest, I think he is too young to understand the significance of this huge academic problem. I mean… he is only a grade-8-student!
But for me, I can totally understand the seriousness of this environmental problem. Because I’m going to married and born my cute babies. I will have my own big family in a few years. I really don’t want my grandson lives on this earth with the extremely hostile environment. That is horrible! Who doesn’t want to go to some superb wonderlands to take a vacation with all their families? Some places like Maldives should be persistent reserved for both human and the whole world instead of sink below the surface.
So, I always considering about what else can I do to save out earth as an undergraduate.
Have you ever thought about washing clothes too often will also results in a bad influence to the environment? GINETEX, the international association for textile care labelling, showing us a project named Clevercare which reminds people to consider the environment when caring for garments. On the occasion of the Earth Week, Stella Mccartney cooperates with Clevercare to promote people treat your garments in correct ways to extend the average life of clothes and reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions. Washing clothes less often, washing at a lower temperature, using other way to ironing like hanging them in the bathroom while you are taking a shower.
“25% of the carbon footprint of clothes comes from the way we care for them.”
Stella Mccartney hopes people pay attention on cleaning garments, and they believe the more you love them, the less you throw them to landfill to create carbon footprint. They consider themselves a responsible company which means they think when you purchase their products, it’s important that garments last for years and can be repaired to save you having to buy it again or throw it to landfill. Do you have a pair of Elyse shoes? They also provide the way to clean them! Why don’t you go to their web and join this exciting activity?
