Clickimin Broch in 2010 by RCAHMS Via Flickr: Situated in Lerwick on the shores of the Loch of Clickimin, this is one of the best preserved broch sites in Shetland, Scotland. The area was first occupied in the Late Bronze Age then developed by Iron Age settlers around the 5th century BC. The defensive broch was constructed around the 1st century AD. Amongst the items discovered during excavations at the site were two fragments of Roman glass, bone dice and a bronze spiral finger ring.
