Standing Stones of Lundin in 1986 by Historic Environment Scotland Via Flickr: The Standing Stones of Lundin are three impressive monoliths up to 5 metres tall at Lundin Ladies Golf Course in Fife, Scotland. A fourth stone recorded in the 18th century lies broken nearby. The New Statistical Account of 1845 conjectured that they could be Roman, memorials to Vikings slain by Macbeth and Banquo, or perhaps of 'Druidical' origin. The purpose of such monuments remains uncertain, perhaps with religious or ceremonial significance, or acting as territorial or route markers. Cairns at Balnuaran of Clava in 1996 par Historic Environment Scotland Via Flickr : Balnuaran of Clava is the site of an exceptionally well preserved group of prehistoric burial cairns that were built about 4,000 years ago. The Bronze Age cemetery complex comprises passage graves, ring cairns, a kerb cairn, standing stones and the remains of a chapel. This view shows the centre and south west cairns taken with a Hi-spy, a camera attached to an extendable pole to capture the whole site in one photograph. Clickimin Broch in 2010 by RCAHMS Via Flickr: Situated in Lerwick on the shores of the Loch of Clickimin, this is one of the best preserved broch sites in Shetland, Scotland. The area was first occupied in the Late Bronze Age then developed by Iron Age settlers around the 5th century BC. The defensive broch was constructed around the 1st century AD. Amongst the items discovered during excavations at the site were two fragments of Roman glass, bone dice and a bronze spiral finger ring.
