1. Favourite outdoor activity?
I don't really make any outdoor activity because i don't usually have time, but when i do, i like to cycling in the park or read a book when is sunny.
2. Favourite non-fiction book?
I don't really read non-fiction... Except for college, but, usually, i don't have to read the entire thing, just part of it. The only one I read on my own and enjoyed was the Martin Luther King biography.
3. If you were to engage in activism/social justice, which issue would you choose? If you are already engaged in activism, pick one and talk to me about it. :)
For a while now, i've been thinking and trying to find a feminist group at my college, but it's kind of hard, even though, my college/course is known for engage in activism and social justice. (Including all the protests happening right now here on Brazil, because of the bus price) I'm having trouble to find one, because most people still act as if feminism is "against man" and "lesbian stuff" which makes the group itself really tiny and without support even in a place that is supposed to be all about freedom and justice.
4. Do you have a notp and if so, what is it?
Hm, i don't know if i have one, but once my OTP is Larry, i think i've to hate Elounor and Haylor (and, yes, i don't think they are/were actual couples). I also don't like Sherlock and Irene.
5. Tell me about a formative book you have read?
I'm not sure if i know what "formative books" are because my first language is not english, but i googled it so just roll with it, if i'm wrong ok?
Well, i don't think i've read many formative books in english and those i did, everyone did as well. So, i think, i'll talk about a famous brazilian one, if that's ok.
There's one i read many years ago, called "Dom Casmurro" by Machado de Assis (1899). It's considered the best brazilian book of all time and that's why i chose it. The book is about Bentinho and about his friend from childhood, Capitu. They were young and fool and fell in love. Bento was known for insecurity and Capitu for her "gypsy, oblique and covert eyes".
His mother made a promise that he would become a priest, so they couldn't be together. He went to the seminary and met Escobar, a friend who started to go to his house a lot often and, like that, also met Capitu. Both didn't want to be priests. A lot of stuff happens and both didn't pursued the religious career. Bentinho married Capitu and Escobar married Sancha, but they were still close friends. Bento and Capitu had a son, Ezequiel.
The book is narrated by Bento and, by this point, he is completely sure Ezequiel is not his son, but, actually, Escobar's son, because the boy used to imitated others and he thinks the boy looked a lot like Escobar.
Escobar dies while swimming on the sea and in his funeral, Capitu doesn't cry but there's this beautiful metaphor about her eyes and the movement of the waves "[her eyes] Brought I do not know what mysterious and energetic fluid, a force that trailed in like a wave that recedes from the beach, in the days of hangover. To not be dragged, I clung to other neighboring parts, ears, arms, hair spread to the shoulders, but as quickly sought the pupils, the wave that came out of them was growing, deep and dark, threatening to involve me, pull me and devour me". Many say that's a hint the author give to us, saying that she indeed cheating on him.
But by the end of the book, after Bento tried to kill himself - he didn't go through it because he was kind of the individualist type - and then tried to kill the child, he have a fight with Capitu and she goes away with her son to Europe.
Many years later, he met Ezequiel on the street and thinks he looks like Escobar. He's kind of an asshole with the boy.
By the end of the book, no one knows for sure if she cheated on him or not. Because, there's no concrete prove or a confession by Capitu. When you read, you also realize how crazy Bentinho was. There's a lot of hints and secret messages by the author. But, until this day, it's still a big fat question mark for everyone.
My personal opinion is that she didn't cheated on him. But i might be wrong. Or not. No one knows. (it was also a criticism and a metaphor about the whole brazilian rich class/middle class society of the 1800s)
If you wanna know more about the book, here's a link to the amazon book page.
6. What is the best comfort food?
Usually, when i'm sad or tired, i eat french bread (a specific kind we have here) with cheese and some-other-thing-i-do-not-know-the-name-in-english. Or chocolate, any kind. With tea or coffee with milk.
I hate when a person don't have any culture, when they don't read or listen to music or watch movies. For me, is like they don't have any personality, they don't have anything to talk about... I also hate long hair and long beards. And, i know i'm being an annoying person, but there's a kind of sneakers some boys use that jfc i can not stand.
9. What do you like most about yourself?
The fact I can think on my own, I'm not easily manipulated. And the fact i read a lot. Like, a lot.
10. On a spectrum, where do you usually fall between changing plans/approach too easily and persevering for too long?
I don't usually change plans, once i decided i'm going to do something, I do my best to pursue it. Usually, the plans don't work, though! Not because i didn't try but because other people involved don't go through it. :/ And i might admit that when i'm sad i pursue things for too long.
WHERE IT IS THE 11TH QUESTION OH GOD

Even though i wanted to participate, as well :( (Actually, i had a test yesterday that was rescheduled because i study in the biggest and most imporant university of the entire country and i also live at the biggest brazil city so the shit is serious aroung here! lol)
