What Are Corporate Thank You Gifts?

Corporate thank you gifts are sent by a business, not by a person, to acknowledge something a client, supplier or referral partner has done. They are occasion-driven rather than seasonal, they carry the sending company's name, and in practice they are hampers rather than cash-equivalent rewards.

Who actually receives them

The list is shorter than most people expect. Clients you want to keep. Suppliers who absorbed a problem instead of handing it back. The partners who send work your way. Staff sit in a separate category with different expectations, which is why employee recognition is a separate collection on our site.

What makes them corporate rather than personal

Three things. The sender is the business, so the gift has to look deliberate rather than fond. The recipient is being thanked in a professional capacity, so it usually goes to a workplace and gets opened in front of colleagues. And the spend has to be defensible to whoever signs it off, which rules out anything resembling a private gesture billed to the company.

A thank you gift also looks backwards: it names something that already happened. An incentive looks forward and makes an offer. Confusing the two is what produces a thank you that reads like a pitch. Alcohol Free Corporate Gifting Is Not An Afterthought

Twenty-seven of our 132 hampers contain no alcohol, and we build fully custom alcohol-free hampers to a budget, theme or dietary brief on top of that. Defaulting a whole team to wine is a reasonable-sounding decision that quietly excludes people, and it also creates real delivery friction you do not need.

Wine as a default is a decision, not a neutral choice

Across any team of thirty, some people do not drink. Recovery, pregnancy, faith, medication, health, or simply not enjoying it. None of those are things the recipient owes you an explanation for, and none are things you should have to ask about.

The problem with a blanket wine gift is not that it offends. It is that it puts the recipient in the position of managing your gift for you - passing it to a colleague, taking it home for a partner, or fielding a well-meant 'did you enjoy it?' with a vague answer. That is a small tax on the exact person you were trying to thank.

The awkwardness lands on the wrong person

The recipient of a gift they cannot use has three options: explain, lie, or say nothing and feel slightly odd about it. All three are worse than the alternative, which is that someone thought about it first.

For staff gifting especially, that moment is remembered longer than the hamper. A person in recovery receiving a bottle from their employer is not a neutral event.

The practical case, separate from the human one

Alcohol delivery carries rules that non-alcohol delivery does not.

It cannot be left unattended. That overrides authority to leave, which is the default for non-alcohol hampers. An empty reception on a Friday means a failed delivery.

Someone 18 or over must receive it. Couriers ID check anyone appearing under 25.

Delivery windows are restricted. 9am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, 10am to 11pm Sunday. No alcohol delivery on Good Friday or Christmas Day, and none before noon on ANZAC Day. There is no in-person collection of alcohol hampers, and a maximum of 1.5 litres per package.

For a large run into offices, hybrid workers and PO boxes, alcohol-free hampers simply arrive with less to go wrong.

What the alcohol-free range covers

Twenty-seven hampers with no alcohol at all, drawing on our tea, self-care and homeware categories, from more than 60 Australian brands. Tea runs $70 to $465, self-care $75 to $390 and homeware $85 to $440, so the range covers a token thank-you through to a significant milestone gift.

Beyond that, we build custom. Tell us a budget per recipient and a requirement - alcohol-free, gluten-free, vegan, nut-free - and we will build to it. These are best efforts rather than a certified guarantee, and we do not operate an allergen policy, so for a severe allergy please treat it accordingly. Custom hampers dispatch within 3 business days.

A sensible default for mixed teams

Send alcohol-free across the board, or ask. Branding is free at any quantity and every hamper carries a free printed personalised message, so an alcohol-free gift gives up nothing in polish.

Why We Keep Perishables Out Of Every Corporate Hamper

Nothing in our 132 hampers is perishable. No flowers, no fruit, no cheese. Everything is shelf stable, because a corporate gift travels across a very large country to an address you do not control and may sit at a reception desk over a weekend. Shelf stable means that scenario is uneventful rather than embarrassing.

The risk is asymmetric, and that is the whole argument

A perishable gift that arrives on time is marginally nicer. A perishable gift that arrives late, or sits in a hot foyer until Monday, is a client opening a spoiled parcel with your logo printed on the box.

Those two outcomes are not equally weighted. The upside is a slightly better impression. The downside is a memorable bad one attached to your brand, and there is no polite way to recover from it. When the potential losses are that lopsided, you remove the failure mode rather than manage it.

Australia is not a convenient country to send food across

We deliver Australia wide, including PO boxes, and every order is tracked. What we cannot do is compress distance. Remote and regional deliveries take longer, and every timeframe we give is an estimate rather than a promise, because weather, road closures and courier networks do what they do.

That is fine for a shelf stable hamper. It is not fine for anything with a cold chain attached to it.

Offices are unpredictable and half your recipients are at home

The address on your list may be a desk that its owner attends twice a week. It may be a reception that closes at four on Fridays. It may be a site office, a PO box, or a home address where nobody is in until evening.

You will not know which, for fifty recipients, and you should not have to. Shelf stable means there is no delivery window to babysit and no phone call to make when a parcel lands on a Friday afternoon.

Non-alcohol hampers default to authority to leave, so they can be left safely. Alcohol hampers cannot be left unattended and need an 18 or over recipient, with couriers ID checking anyone appearing under 25 - worth factoring into an office run.

What shelf stable actually buys you

No cold chain. Nothing to refrigerate at either end, and nothing that fails if a parcel takes the scenic route.

A longer usable life. The recipient opens it when they get to it, not within a 48 hour window. Gifts sent ahead of a holiday break survive the break.

Consistency across a large run. Fifty hampers to fifty addresses arrive in the same condition regardless of which state they land in.

What we do instead

We hand pack from Melbourne using more than 60 Australian brands, across whisky, gin, champagne and sparkling, red and white wine, tea, homeware and self-care, from $70 to $475. What Do You Write On A Corporate Gift Card To A Client?

Name the recipient, reference one specific thing, thank them plainly, and sign as a person rather than a department. Three sentences is plenty. We print a personalised message on an A5 compliments slip in every hamper at no extra cost, so there is no reason to leave it blank or fall back on something generic.

Why the message matters more than the hamper

The hamper says a business spent money. The message says a human being thought about the recipient for thirty seconds. That distinction is the entire difference between a gift that gets mentioned in the next meeting and one that gets quietly split up in the kitchen.

It is also the cheapest decision you will make. The message costs nothing. The specificity costs you half a minute.

Weak: 'Thank you for your business. We look forward to working with you again.'

That could be addressed to anyone, which is exactly how it reads.

Name, specific moment, plain thanks, signed. Nothing performative.

Project completions

Weak: 'Congratulations on the successful completion of the project.'

Better: 'Priya, eleven months and two scope changes later, it shipped. Thanks for keeping everyone calm. Enjoy the weekend off. - Tom'

Acknowledging the difficulty is what makes it land. A completion note that pretends the job was easy tells the recipient you were not paying attention.

Referrals

Referrals deserve the most specific wording of the lot, because the person took a reputational risk on your behalf.

Weak: 'Thanks for the referral.'

Better: 'Dan, thanks for sending the Hartley job our way. They have signed and they are lovely to work with. I owe you one. - Meg'

Closing the loop on what happened is the part people remember.

Staff milestones

Weak: 'Congratulations on 5 years of service.'

Better: 'Aisha, five years. You have trained half this office, including me. Thank you. - Rachel'

For work anniversaries and promotions, avoid anything that sounds like it came out of a HR system. If the message could have been auto-generated, it will be read as auto-generated.

Signing conventions

Sign as a person. 'The team at Acme' is a corporate signature, not a personal one. If it genuinely comes from a group, name the person sending it and mention the team in the body.

Keep it short. Three sentences. Anything longer starts sounding like a performance review.

Skip the sales line. Do not attach a next step, a renewal reminder or a request for a review. A gift with an ask in it is not a gift.

Get the name right. Check spelling and preferred form. Getting a name wrong on a gift is worse than sending nothing.

You place one order. At checkout you enter fifty delivery addresses against the hampers you have chosen, each with its own printed message, and we hand pack and dispatch them from Melbourne with tracking on every parcel. One confirmation, one invoice, one point of contact. Volume discounts apply from five hampers or more.

The problem is admin, not choosing a gift

Most people managing a client gifting run do not get stuck on which hamper. They get stuck on the fifty separate checkouts, the fifty confirmation emails to reconcile, and the spreadsheet that has to be cross-checked against a credit card statement at the end of it.

Our multi-address checkout removes that. Same order, different addresses, one record. If the list is complicated - mixed hamper types, staged send dates, addresses that arrived in three different formats from three different people - send it to us and we will handle the addressing at our end.

Volume discounts start at five

Discounts begin at five hampers or more and are quoted per order by phone or email. We do not publish a percentage, because the number depends on what you are sending and how many. Ask us and you will get a figure for your specific run.

Your logo, or your company or agency colours, on the gift box, the ribbon, the message slip and the sticker. Free, with no minimum quantity. Five hampers or five hundred, the price is the same as unbranded.

Branding is free. Your logo or company colours go on the gift box, the ribbon, the message slip and the sticker at no extra cost, with no minimum quantity attached. Most suppliers treat this as a line item. We do not.

Volume discounts apply on orders of five hampers or more, quoted per order rather than published as a blanket rate, because a run of eight $90 hampers and a run of two hundred $200 hampers are not the same conversation.
