Why We Keep Perishables Out Of Every Corporate Hamper
Nothing in our 132 hampers is perishable. No flowers, no fruit, no cheese. Everything is shelf stable, because a corporate gift travels across a very large country to an address you do not control and may sit at a reception desk over a weekend. Shelf stable means that scenario is uneventful rather than embarrassing.
The risk is asymmetric, and that is the whole argument
A perishable gift that arrives on time is marginally nicer. A perishable gift that arrives late, or sits in a hot foyer until Monday, is a client opening a spoiled parcel with your logo printed on the box.
Those two outcomes are not equally weighted. The upside is a slightly better impression. The downside is a memorable bad one attached to your brand, and there is no polite way to recover from it. When the potential losses are that lopsided, you remove the failure mode rather than manage it.
Australia is not a convenient country to send food across
We deliver Australia wide, including PO boxes, and every order is tracked. What we cannot do is compress distance. Remote and regional deliveries take longer, and every timeframe we give is an estimate rather than a promise, because weather, road closures and courier networks do what they do.
That is fine for a shelf stable hamper. It is not fine for anything with a cold chain attached to it.
Offices are unpredictable and half your recipients are at home
The address on your list may be a desk that its owner attends twice a week. It may be a reception that closes at four on Fridays. It may be a site office, a PO box, or a home address where nobody is in until evening.
You will not know which, for fifty recipients, and you should not have to. Shelf stable means there is no delivery window to babysit and no phone call to make when a parcel lands on a Friday afternoon.
Non-alcohol hampers default to authority to leave, so they can be left safely. Alcohol hampers cannot be left unattended and need an 18 or over recipient, with couriers ID checking anyone appearing under 25 - worth factoring into an office run.
What shelf stable actually buys you
No cold chain. Nothing to refrigerate at either end, and nothing that fails if a parcel takes the scenic route.
A longer usable life. The recipient opens it when they get to it, not within a 48 hour window. Gifts sent ahead of a holiday break survive the break.
Consistency across a large run. Fifty hampers to fifty addresses arrive in the same condition regardless of which state they land in.

We hand pack from Melbourne using more than 60 Australian brands, across whisky, gin, champagne and sparkling, red and white wine, tea, homeware and self-care, from $70 to $475.
