Pt: My blood pressure is up because of white coat syndrome, and I usually take my blood pressure meds around 10 AM, so I haven’t taken them yet.

Me: Okay, well, that’s understandable. Could I ask you to take them now, so I can check your blood pressure again before you leave?

Patient: sure, I have them right here.  By the way, I’m trying to get off these meds by taking apple cider vinegar

Me: I can’t recommend that. It’s not proven to work.

Patient: Yeah, but I’ve done my research and read articles with reliable references

Me: Like I said, It’s not proven to work...There’s not enough research. So, those references aren’t actually reliable. Please don’t refer to Dr. Google when you have an actual physician.
