Person 1: Lets add a really long, sharp and serrated blade to the edge of the lid of the box.

The salvation of Christ therefore consists in this, that He gives the true, divine life. "To follow Christ means to obey His words, to preach that He has Buffered and died for us; that is to obey His words in faith. He that believes on Him, clings to Him, trusts in Him, he will be saved, he follows Christ in faith, he holds on to the Light." ~ Paul Kretzmann

What's the most eco-friendly choice for storing leftovers: plastic cling wrap or aluminum foil?
So I was researching what is the best way to freeze foods and came across this neat article defining if plastic wrap or aluminum foil is better. Ultimately, aluminum foil is better only if you buy the post consumer recycled brand and if you reuse each piece a minimum of six times. With this in mind, I dug deeper and found that reusable silicone freezer bags are going to be the best for freezing if you need an airtight seal with a non-liquid.
Upsides of silicone:
1) The base of silicone comes from quartz, a plentiful resource.
2) Very inert, especially compared to plastic, so won't leach harmful chemicals into your food or the environment.
3) Can be recycled.
Downsides of silicone:
1) Very hard to recycle. You will have to find a special recycle center and often you have to pay to have it taken.
2) The hydrocarbons used to make silicone usually come from petroleum or natural gas.
3) Very inert, so it will take it as long as plastic to break down in the environment if it's not properly recycled.
So while I always recommend saving the glass jars that your foods comes in and using those for storage, if you need an airtight container to hold a non-liquid, I recommend silicone freezer bags. There are a few different sellers on the market, but Zero Waste Outlet uses recyclable kraft paper for packing and wrapping and all of their packaging material can be either recycled or composted at home.
