You’d woken up early with the intent on training alone. It was a common occurrence for most of the team to train later in the day or be away on missions. This left a perfect opportunity for you to be on your own. However, today you had been interrupted.

Clint Barton.

“You look like you need a little company,” he greets, strolling over to the treadmill you were on.

Momentarily, you pause. Your eyes flicker over to him, before you roll your eyes and press the ‘stop’ icon on the treadmill. The machine comes to a steady, gradual halt. Clint smirks, knowing that he’s won; you gave into his request to spar eventually.

“You know neither of us are close combat fighters, right?” you ask, walking over to the sparing mats.

“I know.”

“Are you just doing this to be close to me, Barton?” you tease.

“Maybe...” he laughs, “Or maybe I just want to be able to tell people I’ve been touched by an angel.”

“Clint, was that a pick up line?”

“Depends…”

“On what?” you ask, folding your arms.

“Depends on if it worked or not.”

“Hm... If you win, I’ll let you take me out for a coffee later,” you bargain, leaning closer to him, “If I win-”

“-I’ll still take you out,” he interrupts, “To celebrate.”
