11. Weirdest thing you’ve ever written/thought about writing/etc.?
I have a half finished Dean/Ruby that was a prompt fill for “unplanned pregnancy” and that’s not even the weird part. I can take a kid fic prompt and make it work. The weird part is that what started as an angst fic somehow wound up becoming a humor fic and I’ve…never had a fic…do that before? I’m not a funny person. It was weird.
12. A fic you wish you had written better, and why?
Oh, I’d say a lot. Especially my old Dean/Ruby ones. Some of the really old ones are OOC and my writing has improved, so I’d love to tweak them. But I also like keeping them the way they are as a reminder of how far I’ve come.
Out of all of my fics, my greatest failures are:
she said she collects pieces of sky. It was a fic that I was so excited about and planned so carefully, but I quickly realized that I chose the wrong style of writing for it. The whole ‘time is linear, here’s a story told sideways’ seemed cool and unique when I first came up with it but it did not help me keep things straight. It really messed me up and I couldn’t keep the timeline straight in my head, so it fizzled out. I still think about that one a lot.
I Melt With You. I was so determined to write it, I had it all planned out, and then for whatever reason, it just…didn’t happen. I’m still really disappointed in myself for that one. I sit down and attempt to continue it at least once a year. In the end, it was just way too big of a project to take on. It was a rewrite of Supernatural and Supernatural has twelve seasons. I don’t have the discipline or the talent for that. I mean neither do the SPN writers and they’ve done it but still.
14. Your favorite side pairings to put in?
Diggle/Felicity!!!! Honestly, more people need to hop on that ship. I’m still convinced that in late season one/early season two, they were thinking about going for that ship.
ALSO, not necessarily side pairings, but when I’m writing Dean Winchester and Laurel Lance, I like to throw in casual lines about how bisexual they are and past relationships they’ve had. (*coughlaurel/nyssacough*)
And when writing Dean/Laurel, I tend to put in a lot of subtle implications that Tommy might have, at one point, been a part of their relationship. As in…their boyfriend. Because I just can’t help myself. :))))
15. Your guilty writing pleasure?
Kid fics. I don’t know if guilty is the right word because I don’t feel guilty writing them, but I’m aware that a lot of people don’t like kids and spend a lot of time bashing kid fics, so I always feel nervous about encountering those people when I post my fics.
Hurt/comfort that is mostly hurt. That’s definitely a guilty pleasure. I put characters through some really awful things.
20. 4 sentences from your work that you’re proud of
If you were to ask him about pain - the kind of pain that leaves you a wailing, pleading mess on the cold floor - he would tell you about this. April 6th, three days before her 31st birthday, at 11:59pm. The moment she left. You don’t know what true horror is until you know what that moment of screaming loss feels like. (from an unfinished D/L grief fic for anon.)
