@clj-fanweek Day 5: Lies + Truth
Who could represent today's prompt better than these two?
A little bit late, but for #cljfanweek day 5 I picked the sci-fi au prompt. I love mashing up my fixations so I did a CLJ Horizon au featuring Utaru XLH and Far Zenith DFQC ✨
We're getting closer to the very first Cang Lan Jue Fanweek! The fun begins on August 23rd!
A reminder of the prompts:
Aug 23: awakening + rebirth / pre canon Aug 24: new + old / bitter + sweet / canon divergence Aug 25: morning + night / sea + shore / time travel Aug 26: loyalty + family + childhood / modern au Aug 27: lies + truth / sci-fi au Aug 28: forgetting + remembering / crossover Aug 29: red string of fate / home / post canon
Feel free to interpret them in any way you wish, there are no restrictions! Focus on one prompt or combine them!
All fanwork is encouraged! Gifs, illustrations, fics, meta... whatever you can think of, we want to see it
The AO3 collection is ready! Posting to AO3 is not mandatory, but it's a nice place to keep everything together, especially fics and art.
We're so excited to see what everyone has in store!
@clj-fanweek 🌺 Day 3 - Modern AU
Does anyone remember that tweet about Xiao Lanhua and Dongfang Qingcang embodying the Florist/Tattoo Artist trope?
It’s been on my mind for like a year and this event got me to finally do something about it!
指尖缠绕的温柔; a touch so tender
❤️🩹 2k words, completed oneshot
🌙 for clj fanweek day 2, prompts "new + old", canon-divergence (missing scenes).
❤️🩹 canglan + wound tending, past scars, and present healing.

LBFAD Fic: What's Past is Prologue
Title: What's Past is Prologue Rating: General Audiences Additional Tags: Shippy Gen, Introspective, Character Study, Pre-Canon, Post-Canon, Oneshot Relationship: Dongfang Qingcang/Xiao Lanhua Summary: Dongfang Qingcang dreams, then and now.
(AKA Dongfang Qingcang of the past meets a present day version of himself.)
“YOU ARE NOT ME,” he spoke, his voice booming, as if amplified by magic, and blue flames burst out around his body, enveloping him as he stepped into a defensive stance. He was ready to fight this farce of himself; who spoke of peace, who spoke of love, who spoke as if he had accomplished impossible things, and who even spoke as if he had a heart.
His other self was stone faced, not afraid, and he sighed. “I am you. You are just not yet the person you are meant to be.”

For @clj-fanweek day one (themes: awakenings, pre-canon).
Thank you so much for reading. This is my first fic for the series.
Please check out this stunning art by @clj-art-blog featuring our two versions of DFQC meeting. 😍
For today's CLJ Fanweek post, I was inspired by the prompts "sea and shore" and "morning and night" to come up with this idea.
What if becoming Moon Queen meant Xiao Lanhua had additional powers?
I'll back it up a bit to explain my thought process.
After I read this post by @oleanderedits about Dongfang Qingcang and all the sun imagery in his styling and his powers, I got thinking. Particularly, this line stuck out to me.
It gives the impression that the Moon Supreme is the Sun - that which gives the Moon it’s light - and the Moon Tribe is the Moon - that which reflects the Sun’s power. For 30,000 years, the Moon tribe was as shadowed as the New, and with his return they were edging toward a Full.
It got me thinking about the fact that Dongfang Qingcang is called Moon Supreme, but he doesn't have any moon-related powers. Why is that?
Of course, the out-of-universe explanation of that is in the novel, he was the leader of the demon tribe but they were unable to depict that in the show.
But let's think about it in-universe. If the Moon Supreme is indeed the Moon Tribe's Sun, maybe the Moon Queen is the Moon itself. The Moon, which reflects the Sun's light and shines down upon the Moon Tribe.
As such, what if the Moon Queen would have Moon-related powers to compliment her husband's Sun powers?
I just think it'd be neat if the Moon Queen could do things related to the tides especially. Control them, manipulate large bodies of water, navigate the currents, etc. Take her out on your boat trip if you want a smooth journey!
Now, as for Xiao Lanhua...
