DFQC & XLH | They deserve to be the happiest in all three of the realms!

We did not see this location in the drama, but according to the plan, it is present. I took the design of the columns from the drama itself and added a little of my imagination. They are around here somewhere:

I had thoughts of adding gold ornaments and stuff, but I didn't do it because DFQC and XLH would have got lost in the background of detail, so I decided that I would do it next time 😋 And i continue the @clj-fanweek Theme: post canon [Aug 29]

LBFAD Fic: What's Past is Prologue

(AKA Dongfang Qingcang of the past meets a present day version of himself.)

For today's CLJ Fanweek post, I was inspired by the prompts "sea and shore" and "morning and night" to come up with this idea.

What if becoming Moon Queen meant Xiao Lanhua had additional powers?

I'll back it up a bit to explain my thought process.

After I read this post by @oleanderedits about Dongfang Qingcang and all the sun imagery in his styling and his powers, I got thinking. Particularly, this line stuck out to me.

It gives the impression that the Moon Supreme is the Sun - that which gives the Moon it’s light - and the Moon Tribe is the Moon - that which reflects the Sun’s power. For 30,000 years, the Moon tribe was as shadowed as the New, and with his return they were edging toward a Full.

It got me thinking about the fact that Dongfang Qingcang is called Moon Supreme, but he doesn't have any moon-related powers. Why is that?

Of course, the out-of-universe explanation of that is in the novel, he was the leader of the demon tribe but they were unable to depict that in the show.

But let's think about it in-universe. If the Moon Supreme is indeed the Moon Tribe's Sun, maybe the Moon Queen is the Moon itself. The Moon, which reflects the Sun's light and shines down upon the Moon Tribe.

As such, what if the Moon Queen would have Moon-related powers to compliment her husband's Sun powers?

I just think it'd be neat if the Moon Queen could do things related to the tides especially. Control them, manipulate large bodies of water, navigate the currents, etc. Take her out on your boat trip if you want a smooth journey!

Now, as for Xiao Lanhua...

I think her adoption of Moon Queen powers would be unconventional. The Moon Tribe hasn't had a Moon Queen for over 30k years, and while I'm sure someone knows something about all this, it probably wasn't anyone's priority. Plus, Xiao Lanhua is not originally from the Moon Tribe and it's the first(?) time that's ever happened. The wedding was also rushed, they didn't have a lot of time to prepare or discuss these kinds of things. And there was the battle right after, then Xiao Lanhua died, then Dongfang Qingcang died. So she wouldn't have a chance to even learn about Moon Queen PowersTM.

So, two possibilities: she learns about them in the 500 years Dongfang Qingcang is away, practices her cultivation, gets really good at it, and then surprises her husband at the opportune moment to show him just how committed she is to him and their people

OR! She only learns about it after Dongfang Qingcang has returned and they're having their wedding for real. And some elder (or even Xunfeng) is like WAIT. SHE NEEDS TO KNOW THE MOON POWERS FIRST. And Xiao Lanhua would dedicate herself to learning them. Though, if there were things that needed to be learned BEFORE the wedding, I think Canglan would (rightfully) fight this. They've been separated for 500 years after all.

I just think it's a fun idea.

Also imagine Canglan going out on a little boating excursion to test the waters (heh) and all the fun misadventures they could have.
