Magic Tea Party’s “Sweet Christmas” OP
does anyone know if clobbaonline is still an okay seller? i heard a while back that they were out of business or hacked or something.
If it's not recommended to buy from either qutieland or clobba atm do you know how I could get a classical puppets petti?
Clobba is still perfectly fine, they aren’t associated with Qutieland. They’ve also just opened a new online shop with a much easier ordering system than they had before. Glitzy Wonderland is another option. You can also buy from Classical Puppets on TaoBao using a regular shopping service.
hi, I want to order from Clobbaonline but I don't really understand, can you explain how? >>?? thank you (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
If you scroll down to the very bottom of their front page they have a how to order guide that gives you the form you need and tells you where to send it.
My Lolita Horror Story: A Clobba Review
So as many of you may know, I ordered a dress from Clobbaonline. It was Krad Lanrete’s Le Portrait De Maire. Clobba is selling off Krad’s leftover stock that is not available elsewhere. I paid via paypal and settled in for the wait. However, when the dress arrived with an incorrectly sewn zipper, incorrect measurements, and smelling strongly of mould I reached out to clobba to let them know I had received a defective product. Here are the pictures I took to document this (sorry about the low quality, its from a cell phone camera)
(thread from the stitching on the track of the zipper, if I where to cut them off it would leave a quarter sized hole)
bust measurement flat:84 (stretched tight is 88 bust) description listed: 92 bust
waist measurement flat: 69cm (promised: 72cm)
after contacting Clobba, they insisted that I was in the wrong and that I was “too big” for the dress and attempting to force it on broke the zipper, and there is no defect in the dress. As you can see by the picture, the issue with the zipper is a sewing error on the zip and NOT a mechanical error with the zipper itself. The did not even bother to take the time to look at the actual issue, and instead claimed they contacted Krad who decided the best decision would be to chastise me for purchasing the wrong size. I am a 90 bust and a 69 waist, and they insisted that I measured myself incorrectly instead of considering that a dress may possibly be made incorrectly. The emails are here:
After I told them that this information was incorrect they stop responding to me all together (I have the full email thread between clobba and I, if anyone would like to see more they can inbox me and I will post the full set) So I went ahead and put this through to a paypal claim. Paypal initially did not rule in my favour, and I was very scared I had lost 190 dollars on an unwearble dress.
However, after speaking to a paypal supervisor I found that Clobba had informed them (according to paypal) that this was a custom dress, therfore it was no subject to paypal’s buyer protection coverage. I was able to prove to the supervisor that it was NOT a custom item, as it says right on the page that this item cannot be custom and it is part of clobba’s in-house stock. I was awarded my refund by paypal and I thought this was over and done.
I posted a buyer warning on Rufflechat to protect fellow lolitas to buy from a company that treats its customers like this, and one of clobba’s owner’s friends thought it was ok to personally attack me and insist I was “slandering” clobba and that there was nothing wrong with the dress insisting “chinese sizes run small” and it is not clobba’s fault that the dresses where not true to sizes. As a reseller, clobba is in control of the size charts they put up on their own website. If they knew Krad dresses ran smaller then the size they posted, it is absolutley their responsibility to post that information. Krad gives themselves a 6cm margin of error on all measurments, which is the entire difference between a small and a medium which is incredibly shoddy workmanship on their part. It is clobba’s responsibility to relay that information to the seller, but instead they posted a warning about needing to be 1-2cm under the dress size.
The friend of Clobba’s owner then decided it would be appropriate on a public lolita group to list details about the specifics of how Paypal told clobba they chose to refund me, saying that I did not have good evidence and Paypal refunded me out of pocket. This is all completely fabricated, as I have discussed it with paypal (and the police) myself. I reported this activity to paypal right away, fearing the security of my account. Paypal responded with telling me to change the primary email on the account and contact the police (which I have since done).
The entire thread is still available to read on Rufflechat, and revealing how paypal choses to process their refunds is ILLEGAL (saying you where refunded is not, however) Paypal will not be moving against Clobba legally as this information is incorrect and Clobba is, once again, lying through their teeth instead of doing actual damage control.
So this has been my hell dealing with clobba. They decided it would be appropriate to post a facebook post on their page (with digs at my measuring techniques and body size in it) instead of changing the information on their actual website. They said to leave an 8cm margin of error for each dress you buy, which basically just means they are trying to refuse to guarantee size, but they don’t want it on the page with the dresses in order to avoid compromising sales. They insist the correct way to measure a dress is to pull the dress (with no stretch) as tightly as possible and they tried to show my measurements where incorrect by using a different dress then the one they sold me and measuring that, a dress that had NO manufacturing errors that I would have gladly exchanged for. You can see this here: (but they are screening all comments)

Because of their actions against me, Paypal allowed me to keep the useless broken dress that makes me sick to my stomach to look at! They where nice enough to do this as well as refunding everything I paid to clobba as paypal DOES guarantee advertised size in its buyer protection, despite all of clobba’s flailing around afterwards.
Please take all this information into consideration when choosing which taobao reseller to use in the future. Other girls have come forward with stories of dresses reeking of mould and having clobba hold their packages until paypal buyer protection expires as well as them taking money for custom orders (and just send them a regular sized item)
In short: Just use Qutieland instead. They actually give a crap.
Shout out to Clobba for having the best costumer service for ordering Taobao items.
Is Dark Box an indie brand or a replica brand? ): I checked your tag for them and there was only 3 posts and it wasn't really clear on whether they're indie or replica. I know they have at least one original print but I found them on clobbaonline which is known for selling replica brands.
As far as I know Dark Box does not make any replicas, only their own work. This is actually the case with most of the brands carried by Clobba. The only replica shop they work with is Dream of Lolita as far as clothing goes (other shops like AnTaiNa and Loris do replica shoes and accessories). Some of the other shops will release a replica every now and then but overall most of them do their own work.
So I'm ordering a coat from Clobbaonline and its my first time using it so its taking so long just to get my measurements right but holy shit. I love this guy he's so nice.
Good customer service is my greatest weakness.
