Okay, I was tagged by edgybutchic for top 10 characters... here they are!! No particular order really.
Also, there will be SPOILERS in this… Yeah, I happen to explain why I like these characters and I will be giving things away.
1) Magnus Bane Umm, he inspired my URL, so obviously he’s one of my favourites… From his magic, to his sparkles and glitter, I can’t help but adore Magnus. He’s different, but he embraces it, and that’s something I respect very much about him. Who he is, is who he really is. Not some copy of someone else, he’s one of a kind, and totally loves it. He embraces his style, sexuality and personality. It makes me comfortable with who I am, seeing how happy he is to be himself, is something I strive for. If it weren’t for Magnus, I’d still be hidden way back in the closet. Bisexuals FTW!!!
2) Will Herondale All right, so Will just gives me so many feels, and I feel so much of his pain. Hiding all of your feelings, hating yourself for something, all the books… I feel for him. Books have truly saved my life in so many ways, and if I hadn’t ever read about this character, I might not even be here right now. Yeah, that seems a bit farfetched and ridiculous, but really… There are just so many things about this character that made me discover and realize things about myself and others that I never really considered or thought about.
3) Tessa Gray I love Tessa. I can’t not love her. She breaks the typical love triangle rule, you know, that one that’s like “YOU ONLY GET ONE!” but she’s just like ‘nah’ and gets them both!! Damn girl, you can do anything! From being thrown into this magical world, finding out about this ability, meeting Will and Jem, and all the other stuff I’m too lazy to list, she’s pretty bad ass. She amazes me, the way she handles everything. It’s hard to explain the feels, but omg, this girl is amazing.
4) Isabelle Lightwood What I really love about Izzy, is that, she still keeps up the feminine image through all this work that is commonly categorized as ”a man’s job” (Demon hunting) it’s like, she just remains herself, and kicks ass, all while looking fabulous. Her ‘pure heart’ really does repel dirt. Her sass, though not always present, really adds a flair to her that I love, and if you dig deep enough, she has that gentle side, the side afraid if falling in love, afraid of the fate of her loved ones. It’s a balance that is well kept with her, and I truly do love that about her.
5) Jem Carstairs His friendship with Will gives me power to survive, I can’t say otherwise. He puts up with Will’s cynical humour and anger outbursts, and to him, it’s just another thing about Will that makes them closer (does that make sense?). Jem’s addiction does have a huge impact on him and those around him, but the way he carries himself, knowing he might only have days left, as if nothing’s wrong when something really is, is amazing and powering. He is never (okay, well rarely) Bitter towards anyone, even though he has all the reason to be if he wanted to.
6) Cecily Herondale Okay, hear me out with this… Cecily’s older sister dies, and her brother leaves not even a week later… She went through a lot, and it’s never really looked at too much. I feel for her, she lost her only siblings, and her parents were never the same. It was a lot to happen, did I forget to mention she was NINE! She was so young, and she lost half of her family within days. I can’t even imagine how that would feel. She pulls herself together and remains strong, and still cares greatly for her family. She’s brave and grows up to be a badass Shadowhunter.
7) Sophie Collins This girl never ceases to amaze me. It may seem odd, but I pull a lot of inspiration from her, and respect her. The things that happened to her before she was found by Charlotte, it’s a lot. It’s a painful thing, and it lead to her lack of trust in men. She falls in love with someone of an upper class (Jem), and knows in her heart, she cannot be with him for many reasons. Later on, the same happens, another man in an upper class (Gideon), falls for her, and she for him… But her past memories seem to make her ignore her feelings. However, love overpowers all and she manages to be with him… And even become what she’s always wanted to be: a Shadowhunter.
8) Katniss Everdeen Defy the odds, kick ass, and leads a rebellion, a revolution. She changes the society she lives in for better. She gets thrown into this fight, defies the odds and comes out with two winners, and gets thrown into being a leader for something she knew nothing about… Even with all the pressure on her, she still manages to fight for the better world everyone needs.
9) Hazel Grace Lancaster She’s been through very much in her short life, and the way she carries herself through it, truly does give hope. Hazel manages to stay strong, despite knowing what her fate is/most likely will be.
10) Hermione Granger Do I need to explain?
So, I guess as you can see, 70% of my favourite characters are female… But, I don’t mean to discourage male characters, everyone on this list inspires me in one way or another, and that’s why they make it on here, regardless of gender.
Wow, this was a long summary, but these characters have seriously helped me with my life. Thank you, edgybutchic for this tag…
I tag: that-isabelle-lightwood, magnusglitterswag, and clockworkmockingjay for this tag!! It’s totally up to you if you want to do it or not, I had fun doing it and hope you do too, should you choose to do it!!
