Captain Keeli joins the GAR Goth Night Party at 79s
I looked EVERYWHERE for this guy! He was seriously hard to find. I had to airlift his shebs from a Tatooine desert. Apparently everyone presumed he was KIA on Ryloth quite a few rotations back. Turns out he escaped (somehow…I’m not one to pry) and has been living feral with a wild herd of banthas.
Why did I go to this trouble, you may ask? Well, that’s simple. After Crosshair dragged Mayday away onto the dance floor, I found myself standing solo against the wall, consumed with enui and pondering the positive merits of companionship. It struck me (belatedly, to my shame), that our dearest Chaos Vod @eobe has done and continues to do a tremendous amount of work to ensure all the guests at this momentous event are enjoying themselves and have the pleasure of their favourite individuals for company except for herself. She needed a wing jetpack woman! Since I was presently uncoupled I was the ideal candidate.
So, through the magic of Mandalorian technology and an unseen montage, I slipped away, jetsnacked (respectfully) her favourite, still very alive - if somewhat smelly, Keeli and dragged him to 79s. After a sonic and wardrobe change of course. Apparently living with banthas for so long distorted his fashion sense - he's sporting a bantha-fur capelet and brought his own spotchka horn. I’m not judging.
Ni kar’taylir gar, ner vod! 🫶

Chapter One - The Day I Met Him
Captain Keeli X OC
Warnings: absolutely none. This a re-write. There will be many more chapters to come.
Lacinda Cornell was nineteen years old and absolutely certain she had her life planned.
She worked nights as an emergency room technician at the only civilian hospital in the region, picking up extra shifts and hoarding every credit she earned. If all went according to plan, she would begin nursing school the following semester.
It was a practical dream.
A good dream.
The kind that still seemed possible, even after the galaxy had started to change.
Four years earlier, the Trade Federation had arrived on Earth with promises of prosperity. Investment. Jobs. Access to technologies beyond anything humanity had imagined.
At first, many people celebrated.
Laci had not.
Even as a teenager, she had spent too much time reading scientific journals and environmental studies to trust a corporation that strip-mined planets for profit. Since the Trade Federation’s arrival, the economy had worsened, pollution had increased, and Earth’s governments seemed increasingly willing to look the other way.
Something was coming.
Laci had felt it for years.
She just never imagined it would begin in the hospital loading dock at three o’clock in the morning.
⸻
The emergency department had been unusually quiet that night.
Laci took advantage of the lull to restock supplies, pushing a cart through the dim corridors toward the purchasing department in the rear of the building.
As she rounded the corner near the loading dock, movement caught her eye.
Two men stood outside.
One remained near a speeder parked in the shadows.
The other was crouched beside the security keypad, dressed head to toe in white and rusty brown colored armor. In one gloved hand he held a compact tool. The keypad cover hung loose from the wall.
For one absurd second, Laci thought she was looking at a character from a video game.
Then she realized he was armed.
Every sensible instinct told her to call security.
Instead, she slipped out through the side door near the dumpsters.
Laci had never claimed to have good survival instincts.
“Hey!” she called. “What do you think you’re doing?”
The armored man startled and spun toward her.
A blaster appeared in his hand.
Laci’s heart lurched.
She stumbled backward, lost her footing, and landed hard on her backside, striking the back of her head against the metal door frame.
Pain flashed white behind her eyes.
The world dissolved into blurry shapes and distant voices.
⸻
When her vision finally cleared, two armored men were kneeling beside her.
One still wore his helmet.
The other had removed his.
And Laci forgot, for a moment, that she was supposed to be frightened.
He was beautiful.
His face was all strong lines—square jaw, prominent nose, high cheekbones—but it was his eyes that held her.
Large and impossibly warm, their amber-brown depths seemed to look straight through her and into something softer than she usually let anyone see.
His dark hair was cut close to his scalp, with intricate shaved patterns along one side.
His expression was calm, concerned.
His lips were moving, but Laci was too distracted to hear the words.
This had to be a concussion.
Or a hallucination.
Possibly both.
Finally, the sound returned.
The beautiful man turned to his companion.
“Skip, put the blaster away. Can’t you see she’s terrified?”
His voice was rich and accented, unlike anything Laci had ever heard.
She was in trouble.
Because she was fairly certain she was already falling in love.
He looked back at her, concern softening his features.
“Skip, you should examine her. I think she hit her head pretty hard.”
Then he offered her a reassuring smile.
“Miss, I’m Captain Keeli, and this is my medic, Skip. We didn’t mean to hurt you. We were trying to acquire supplies for our wounded.”
Skip removed his helmet and knelt beside him.
Laci stared.
Then stared harder.
Two identical faces.
Her eyes widened.
“What the hell?”
She scooted backward until her shoulders hit the door.
Keeli reached out and gently steadied her by the forearm.
“Easy. You’ve probably got a mild concussion.”
He tilted his head.
“You’ve heard of the Grand Army of the Republic?”
Laci swallowed.
“Yeah. But not here. We’re so far out on the Outer Rim, the Republic doesn’t care what happens to us.”
Keeli’s mouth curved into a small smile.
“Well, we do now.”
He settled back onto his heels, still holding her gaze.
“The Trade Federation has taken an interest in your world. We’ve heard the Separatists may be doing the same. The Republic sent the 303rd Outer Rim Garrison to find out exactly how interested they are.”
Skip shifted beside him.
“May I examine you, miss? I am a medic.”
Laci raised an eyebrow.
“I work in an emergency department. I think I can arrange for a doctor to check me.”
Her eyes flicked to his blaster.
“One who doesn’t point a weapon at me for asking a question.”
Skip looked appropriately sheepish.
“Sorry.”
“And,” she added, glancing between them, “I’m not sure I should trust thieves.”
Keeli’s expression turned solemn.
“You’re right. You probably shouldn’t.”
Something in his honesty melted what little resistance she had left.
He continued.
“We use Republic credits. Your world does not. Acquiring food and medical supplies has been… difficult.”
Laci folded her arms.
“You know, if you’d asked nicely, I could have gotten you perfectly good ‘expired’ supplies.”
She made air quotes.
“Most of those dates are arbitrary anyway.”
Keeli and Skip exchanged a look.
Then both smiled.
“You’d do that?” Keeli asked.
Laci lifted her chin.
“On one condition.”
Keeli raised a brow.
“Oh?”
Her heart was pounding, though she did her best to look confident.
“I want you to teach me how to fire that blaster.”
For a beat, Keeli simply stared at her.
Then his smile spread slowly, transforming his entire face.
Behind him, Skip chuckled.
Keeli extended his hand.
“Deal.”
Laci slipped her hand into his.
The moment his fingers closed around hers, she felt something shift.
She could not have known then that this handshake would change the course of her life.
That Captain Keeli would become her first great love.
That she would leave Earth, follow him into a war among the stars, and lose more than she believed she could bear.
All she knew was that a handsome soldier with honey-brown eyes was smiling at her in a hospital loading dock.
And for the first time in her life, the future looked larger than the world she had always known.
I've been making this playlist, any song that reminds me of the clones I'm dumping in here.

Keeli’s starting to get used to being General Syndulla’s aide and the go between for him and, at the moment, Commander Crane, but tonight he’s feeling pretty anxious about it. It’s not official, not yet, and tonight it either will become official or he’ll be sent back off to just being a normal captain. He doesn’t mind being a normal captain—but he’s really been enjoying working with Syndulla.
Tonight, the High Commander General and his party are coming to Ryloth. They’re already here, but Commander Crane sent his main aide right now, Captain Howzer, to greet them while he and a the other captains under him handle the defensive constructions around the planet before rushing back for the dinner tonight.
Keeli’s jerked out of his anxiety by a familiar giggle—little Hera must have come by to visit, but General Syndulla is in a meeting to hear the concerns of a nearby village. He gets up and shuffles out to check on her, but when he opens the door he finds she’s not just with his squad.
Not only is Hera accompanied by her mother, Eleni, they’re also with a Mandalorian in green armour with a gold oval painted on their helmet, and another child who Keeli immediately recognises as a cadet and nearly panics before he remembers the High Commander General had apparently said something about bringing his son, who is a little older than the Syndulla child.
The Mandalorian’s golden oval face, almost owl-like, tilts up toward him. “Sorry, Captain, we decided to meet here. We’ll be out of your office soon.”
Keeli blinks. “Uh, sure, of course.” It’s clear that the Fett kid and Hera seem to be getting along, from the look on Eleni’s face. “I’m Captain Keeli, I’ve been acting as General Syndulla’s aide,” he offers the the Mandalorian, who takes a few steps over to shake his hand.
“I’m Akaanik’sha Fett, Jango is my older brother,” the mysterious Mandalorian explains. “Most clones call me Spar.”
Keeli never heard about their template having siblings, but it doesn’t really seem like something most clones would hear about. “Nice to meet you.”
Spar’s helmet tilts back to the two children. “Boba, my nephew,” he explains, finally putting a name to the little Fett, who looks up and sticks his tongue out at them both. “How is it, under Syndulla? Are you having any regrets about taking the position? Would you rather be doing something else?”
Keeli feels his blood go cold. “I like it,” he says. “I’m doing good work here, especially as a go between. I can’t think of anything I’d rather do.” Even if he weren’t a clone trooper, he’s really found he loves Ryloth. Everyone here has been welcoming and informative, and he believes in the other work that General Syndulla is doing, besides just preparing for the risk of Separatist attack.
Spar laughs. “Alright.”
“Are we ready to go eat?” Eleni asks finally.
“I’m starving,” Spar says, as the children cheer then looks back at Keeli. “I’ll see you tonight then. Good luck.”
That doesn’t fill Keeli with very much enthusiasm, but all four beings leave quickly.
Cosplayers deserve the world.
