I think that s1 Frida and s2 Frida are not the same person. (It’s obvio lol)

It would not make sense if they were because s1 Frida was frozen along with the rest of the clones. So, s1 Frida had a younger clone sister lol.

But, I do see s2 Frida being some flavors of trans!

this is a response to the guy who hates jfgogh, fully agree. Van Gogh is mischaracterised so often, he’s not a “UwU misunderstood femboy” . If anything he’s a maniacal little animal. He got revenge on Gandhi for putting him on speakerphone by painting a massive mural of Gandhi NUDE infront of the whole school. He ripped up a stop sign and smashed a window. His whole personality is definitely not just chaotic little weirdo, but he also isn’t just sad uwu baby

Sometime people write mlm ships with the same dynamics over and over which perpetuates harmful stereotypes.

They stereotypes characters into a “dominant” and “submissive” role. In the process these characters are pushed into heteronormative ideals.

This could be the case with jfgogh. that could be why Van Gogh’s character is butchered. Although, I wouldn’t know since I haven’t seen it happen first hand so this is all an assumption. Please let me know if I am wrong!

Let me end with this, it fine to ship jfgogh. It’s also fine to dislike the ship.

jfgogh is so bad

i dont mean to be mean, and i have no ill will towards the people that enjoy the ship, do what makes you happy. but the level of popularity it gained amongst new fans and the majority of the content that came out of it left a bad taste in my mouth

dont get me wrong i like van gogh. i think the bits he had were funny and his design is great

but kids were very clearly projecting themselves onto van gogh's character and they interpretted him as some "uwu misunderstood lonely edgyboi but also anxious softboi artsy outcast XD hes just like me!!!!!!" and they couldnt admit they had a crush on jfk so they instead put van gogh and jfk together. and it made no sense.

if people wanted an mlm ship with jfk, ghandi, abe and ponce are right there. they all have chemistry and tropes that could be paired easily together with jfks meathead jerk jock character instead of what fans though van goghs character was.

do people want a relationship with a height difference and silly shenanigans?: ghandi

enemies to lovers and opposites attract?: abe

childhood friends to lovers and hurt and comfort and angst?: ponce

there are so many better options than some random background character with 3 lines.

and all the fics that came out of the ship that romanticized self harm and severe mental illness were messed up

tldr: out of all the fandoms ive been apart of, jfgogh is one of the worst ships i have seen. f-tier

It’s okay to dislike Jfgogh. It’s not my favorite ship, but I don’t dislike it.

My opinion is that it’s okay to ship whoever as long as it’s not a problematic ship. The ship, itself does not need to make sense.

From what you’ve told me, it seems Van Gogh is ooc when it comes to the ship. It is annoying but isn’t the worst thing. Jfgogh isn’t the worse ship out there and it’s fine if people ship them together.

I only every watched the leak episode, but I do hope topher bus interacts with the main cast more.

He is actually one of my new favorite character. So I want to see more of topher bus.

I actually think frida khalo and Harriet tubmans redesigns are okay. At the very least, they give off more main cast energy than they did before. I also think that a lot of people after seeing the leaked episode aren’t willing to give it a chance which is hella disappointing because again, I kinda liked the episode. I feel like a lot of people missed the humor in Abe being realistically offensive considering how normalized the horrible stuff he was saying was back then. As someone who was born around 2000, calling things gay as an insult or casually using the r slur was so normalized nobody batted an eye. And now we can recognize why that’s wrong but like, realistically, if someone like Abe from the early 2000s woke up one day without knowing how social norms have changed, they’d be a problematic dick.

It’s also weird to me because like,,, weren’t most of us like “fuck Abe, Joan can do better” anyways? Like I don’t hate him but I definitely think that was an important part of his character development.

Keep in mind this was written around the time the pilot was leaked!

Frida’s design has been growing on me. I don’t know about Harriet’s though.

I haven’t seen S1 in a hot minute so I don’t remember Abe’s humor being like it is in S2 E1. No one is saying that the humor back then was not filled with slurs.

It’s just weird seeing Abe being written in that position. We are talking about the same dude who kissed Gandhi in the A.D.D. episode.

I see what they were going with in the pilot.

I joke about hating Abe, not only because I do think he doesn’t deserve Joan, but because of Cleo. Other than that, I still like him as a character.
