The first time Fives and Echo met Fox, it was on their first leave on Coruscant, a few months after leaving the Rishi Moon for the 501st. They weren’t shinies anymore but it was a recent thing. A couple of their new friends had taken them to 79s one night. It turned out that some commanding officers had also decided to meet up there that day. Back then, Fox and Thorn didn't struggle much to take their night off together. Back then, they easily came to 79s when they wanted to go out.
The 501st troopers had been there for a few hours already, drinking and laughing together, when Echo hit Fives with a vicious pointy elbow right in the ribs. Fives didn't have time to complain before he was pointed towards a duo on the dance floor. The moment Fives saw them, he forgot any desire to grumble. He forgot the very existence of words themselves.
Two officers were dancing. He had never seen any clone move like that. Like it was as easy as breathing and made to make anyone looking pop a boner. Putting on a show like they were paid for it and not caring in the slightest about anyone around them, just having fun and enjoying themselves. Skin shining under the colorful lights, bodies waving against each other, strong muscles bending and relaxing, hips thrusting back and forth against each other in perfect synchrony. All of it made it very hard not to imagine how the pair would look like in bed and a quick glance around proved that Echo and Fives were very, very far from the only ones entranced.
Next to them, Jesse snorted.
“Don't get your blacks in a twist, boys. The blond one with the high hairdo and the shoulders to kill for is Commander Thorn. The one with the braid is Commander Fox. Both are ruling over the Coruscant Guard. Trust me, you don't want to be on their bad side and that includes on their night out.”
Fives only listened as far as it gave him intel on the pair. He couldn't look away, completely mesmerized by the sight. Their smiles were illuminating their faces as they both sang lyrics they obviously knew by rote. Thorn had left his greys vest somewhere, leaving him only in a tank top that let the light do amazing things for his shoulders. He was obviously built like a heavy gunner, and it was no wonder why Jesse needed to comment on it. That and his high bun made his partner look even smaller than his lean runner’s muscles already gave the impression of.
But neither Echo nor Fives cared about Thorn’s shoulders. Both were stuck on Fox’s grace and control and smile. Joyous and butter-won’t-melt, the kind of smile that promised you’d get eaten whole in the best of ways. The shine in his eyes was visible from the other side of the dance floor. His greys were doing nothing to hide his body nor the way he apparently could just bend and move like that. Fives had to keep himself more times than he would admit from moving and trying to match the sinuous movements of Fox's hips, always turning in large circles even as he pressed close to Thorn and away again, dropping in a deep squat only to raise back with a curve of his back and still moving his strong hips, again and again, as if he could do it for hours on end, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Everything about him seemed to have come out right from a mix of the Dominoes’ respective wet dreams. Then Thorn weaved his fingers in his braid and pulled gently, making Fox arch against him, head thrown back and throat exposed to the light. Fives and Echo both swallowed, fingers flexing against the sticky table and cheap plastoid of the booth.
“They're together ?” Echo asked Jesse, voice deceptively unaffected, barely moving a fraction of his attention from the dancefloor.
“From what I know, not in the way you're implying. The Corrie Commanders are a package deal but rumor has it it’s either not a romantic one or not exclusive. From what I know, Thorn is also already taken.”
Jesse said that last line with a wicked smile in his voice — not that Fives was going to turn his head to check. He sounded the same as every time the Coruscant-decanted troopers among the 501st shared inside jocks and their special brand of gossip. And indeed, at that moment, Fox was moving away from Thorn to call someone in the officers corner. Thorn was obviously trying to keep him from going, his blush and annoyed frown visible from the side of the dancefloor. Fox only laughed at his efforts — and wasn't that a beautiful sight — before waving at his other friend again to leave their table and join them. Fives leaned forward to try and catch who it was— wait, Rex ?? Rex was sitting with Commander Cody, shaking his head repeatedly at Fox, a uniform vest — most likely Thorn’s — resting right next to him on the booth. Cody was laughing and pushing the Captain lightly towards the dancefloor which made Rex protest even more. Fives didn't need to hear them, he recognized that expression on his Captain. It was the face and posture he always sported seconds before the General yeeted him with the Force.
The goading and teasing happening there continued for a few more minutes until Thorn jabbed Fox’s side viciously enough to be seen by Fives and Echo. Laughing and squirming, the gorgeous vod batted his friend’s hands away and left the dancefloor in the direction of the bar, pushing Thorn back towards their booth as he went.
The Dominoes exchanged one look and jumped out of the booth, rushing through the crowd in the same direction, completely ignoring Jesse half-heartedly trying to call them back.
When they catched up, Fox was leaning on the counter, smile still dancing on his lips as he talked to the bartender. Fives couldn't help checking out his ass in those tight-fitting trousers.
“Stop it.” Echo hissed, swatting at Fives' arm multiple times in a row as if it would make him stop faster.
“Like you're not watching !” Fives hissed back.
Could you even blame him ? The only other vod that looked this good was right next to Fives and sharing his bed. Oh no. Now Fives was thinking about Fox and Echo in bed together, naked and languid and lustful, Echo kissing that sweet, mischievous smile right out of Fox’s lips, tasting it until he made Fox’s moan and— Urgh, Echo would have to do the talking because Fives was definitely going to mess up their first impression.
Too late, they were right next to Fox now. He turned towards them, the predator edge of his everything at full blast, an eyebrow raised. Now that he wasn't right under the strobing and colorful lights, his hair appeared to be dyed a deep blue — as deep as 501st blue — weaved with a couple of shiny ornaments, like stars in the night sky. Fives itched with the want to untie Fox’s braid and see his curls spill all over his shoulders, waving them through his fingers, pulling the soft strands and watching how the ornaments would catch the light with every shift and jerk of Fox’s head…
“What can I do for you, troopers ?” He asked, voice smooth and calm and yep, this was definitely doing things to Fives he would never come back from.
Neither he nor Echo said anything, they just stared at the vision in front of them like fishes out of the water. Fox’s other eyebrow joined the first as he settled back against the counter, turning towards them. Thankfully they were stopped from making more fools of themselves by Fox's comm bipping.
The Commander turned to it and jumped to his feet in an instant, teasing smile gone.
“Sorry boys, duty calls.” At the last moment he turned back towards them. “You're 501st right ? Would you be good and bring my order to Rex’s table ?”
And with that he was gone, offering a last wave to the bartender and a wink for the Dominoes.
Fives groaned. In the corner of his eyes, he saw Echo put his head in his hands.
“We need to tap that.”
Echo nodded fervently at his side.
But first they had to complete the shame walk of disturbing their Captain and two Commanders on their leave to bring them their booze.

Echo stroked Fox's hair with his remaining hand, again and again. It was the middle of the day but Fox had mastered the art of taking naps whenever he could, it came with the risk of being woken up in the middle of the night to deal with some urgency or other. The dye was old, the color far from its usual deep blue and more like a pale and used hue turning slightly green. It took time for it to get that bad, it must have been months since Fox last redid the color, some time before Fives was shot he presumed. Echo sighted as a dry curl caught on his fingers. His lover usually took a lot of care of his hair, always finding time in his busy schedule to maintain it. And yet, the current state of it wasn't really a surprise. He’d have to try and see if he could coax Fox into letting him redo the dye for him. It’d be as good training as any for the hand attachment the Corries suited him with until they could find a better prosthetic.
Echo kept up with his slow movements, making sure not to wake Fox — he really needed the rest — as he waited for one of the other Commanders to finally pull him in the loop on what was going on.
