in a way, yes he is. Hos is very aware that they can handle themselves, but he sees them as his family, so anytime any of them are sad, have been hurt emotionally or physically, or are generally feeling any negative emotion he goes into Protective Big Brother Mode
J usually represses his emotions to the point of breakdowns if he’s feeling sad, Steph deals with his sadness by turning it into anger and punching walls, and Anna usually isolates herself. Of course none of these are good so when Hos finds out about this he comforts them however he can, patches them up if needed, kisses their forehead then seeks out revenge on whoever made them sad. Can and will throw someone off a cliff for his homies.
