Prolog: After a battle in a Taboo you find yourself in the infirmity in Kamino where you meet Cody. Something sparks in you like a feeling of love. Is he felling it to ?
You were running in the snowy woods of Kaller you were hearing the faint sounds of blasters and screaming of people getting killed by stormtroopers. You leaned on a tree and groaned in pain as you looked at your hand that was placed on your side to see blood “Shit.” you said and head stormtroopers shouting orders. You tried to shake it off as you continued to run and tried to make it to a safe place but your vision became blurry. You tried to shake you head to considerate but ended up tripping over a rock and hitting your head on the ground.
You thought this was the end as you let a tear fall down as slowly closed your eyes and passed out on the snowy ground. A group of clone troopers found you and surrounded you with guns aimed at you. Cody stepped forward with his helmet on “Stand down, She’s unarmed.” he said as the trooper lowered their guns and let Cody flip you over to see your place face. He looked at your lips to see them truing icy blue and looked further down to see a bullet wound. He knew that it was the matter of time before you could die from bloodloss or the cold. He picked you up and held you close to his chest “Get back on the ship, were going to Kamino.” he ordered as the men saluted and began to walk back to the ship.
While Cody was walking he can feel cold you were and tried to warm you up by his body heat or by holding you closer. He took another glance at you and saw that you looked peaceful asleep making him feel like he needed to protect you from any harm. Once he got on the ship he sat down as he grabbed as blanket and placed it around you two and felt the ship takeoff. He cat help but look at how you face was pressed agents his chest plate. He moved a piece of hair out of your face as he waited to got back to Kamino and take you to the medic for possible surgery depending on how bad your condition was.
Hours later you were in the infirmary in a bed as you had to get some stitches on you side. Cody was sitting next to you passed out as you groaned as you slowly woke up and looked around. Your body was hurting as you tried to sit up. You looked around to see medical stuff around you and heard a yawn as you looked over to see Cody without his helmet and his brown eyes met yours. He was shocked and surprised about his your eyes looked. “Where am I?” you asked as you looked at your hand to see and IV line that was connected to a bag “My squad found you on the ground bleeding in Kaller so I took you to Kamino to get you fixed and here we are.” he said as he stretch. You glanced down to see his shirt lifted up a little as you felt your heart race and your face turning warm.
“Thanks.” you said as you look away trying to hide your blushing face. Cody though that it was cute and introduced himself “Im Cody. He said and hoped that you would say your name. When you said your name he smiled “That's a mesh’la name.” he said and smiled softly. You smiled and looked at the door to see it his open to see Rex “The Jedi need to see us.” he said as Cody nods and Rex left. Cody got up as he streached his back he looked at you one last time “ Till we meet again Cyar’ika.” he said and left.
You blushes at the name as you felt your heart race and you felt like you had a bond with him as you smiled. You knew that you were falling in love with him but you hoped that he felt the same.
Cody leaned on the wall next to you door and blushed as he couldn't believe that he called you Darling. He was walking down with Rex as he began to tease him about her “ Looks like somebody likes the girl.” said Rex smirking at Cody as he punched his arm “Shut up dude.” he said as they entered a meting room and saw Obi-wan and Anakin. “We need to discus the danger of the girl.” said Obi- Wan as he continued ‘She is the daughter of the clan leader in Kaller who was killed, If the Empire finds out that she's still alive, They would want her dead so we are going to assign Cody to be her protector.” said Obi-wan and looked at Cody to see his face surprised and shocked. Cody nod’s “I shall protect her with my life.” he said and saluted as he began to walk back to the medic room “She’s a princess?” he said to himself as he blushed thinking about you again and smiled “No wonder she’s cute.” he said and chucked as he began to make his way to the brunch area to get you some food. You got some stew and bread as he walked back.
He entered to see you still on the bed “Got you some food.” he said as he gave you the bowl and bread. You began to chew it down and drink water that was right next to you. He smiled as he saw how happy you were that you were getting some food in you.
You yawned and streached as you layed down and faced Cody “Can you stay here until I sleep?” you asked as Cody smiled “ Of course Cyar’ika .” he said and looked at the empty spot next to you. He hesitated and went over and laid right next to you as you placed your head on his chest and slowly drift of to sleep. As the lights went off in Kamino Cody fell asleep holding you and smiled as he felt your hand on his chest as well.
You were raised in the Jedi order, Padawan of Jedi Master Obiwan Kenobi.
You were breathing heavily, heart beating out of your chest as you could only pray no one noticed. You had no idea what was happening, but the Clones had all turned, suddenly going and killing all of the Jedi in one swoop. Master Kenobi had left you at the temple while he went after general Grievous and that was apparently too dangerous for a Padawan. This of course had you upset and feeling useless, so you had been messing around when everything went down. This messing around had ended up saving your life, why you had access to Clone armor wasn't important, but you deciding at that moment to try it on had saved your life.
Now you were still in the armor, but on a ship going who knows where as you just needed to get away from Coruscant as fast as you could. No one questioned why a Clone was on a passenger ship off world but you could only be grateful that they didn't. You could only stand there, stiff backed and unspeaking as you traveled.
Sooner than expected you land and are able to get off of the ship, quickly getting as far away from anyone from Coruscant as you can, talking someone into giving you some clothes from their stall as you did so. You run off and change before getting out of town.
You fall to the ground as you find somewhere that seems somewhat safe to stop. You pull out your lightsaber and study the hilt as tears form in your eyes. The adrenaline was wearing off and the reality of everything that had happened was setting in. You had lost everyone in a single day. Your Master was gone and dead along with all the other Jedi, the Clones you had thought to be friends weren't, everything was taken from you just like that.
You spend the night on the ground, always somewhere between sleeping and crying as all of you just hurt and you felt lost. You were still only a child, yes you were well enough trained to be a Padawan learner but being executed alongside all the other Jedi for warcrimes you hadn't committed made no sense. It was all you could do to keep yourself from completely falling apart, here you were, the last Jedi alive in the entire galaxy and you were just a lost child.
The next day things look no better, but you get up anyways, dumping the armor before going back into town. You luckily had a few credits in your pocket so you didn't have to use the force to convince someone to give you food. As you eat you are able to sit down and almost relax a little, unfortunately a transmission of Senator Palpatine from Coruscant begins to play across all the screens in the area.
"Citizens of the civilized galaxy," Palpatine begins, "on this day we mark a transition. For a thousand years, the Republic stood as the crowning achievement of civilized beings. But there were those who would set us against one another, and we took up arms to defend our way of life against the Separatists. In so doing, we never suspected that the greatest threat came from within."
"The Jedi, and some within our own Senate, had conspired to create the shadow of Separatism using one of their own as the enemy's leader. They had hoped to grind the Republic into ruin. But the hatred in their hearts could not be hidden forever. At last, there came a day when our enemies showed their true natures."
Your heart is in your throat and you can hardly swallow your food as you hear him announce these things. You, y/n l/n, had been at Master Kenobi's side for years and he along with the other Jedi leaders had wanted nothing more than for the war to end. But none of that mattered now, the Jedi were gone, the Jedi Order had been wiped out, and only these blatant lies would succeed in reaching the ears of the public. You get up and walk away, back into the wilderness with your few supplies you had been able to grab, planning to just stay here on Saleucami until things settled enough you could get away unnoticed.
You spend nearly a week of your time traveling through the wilderness until you come to another town large enough to have a space port. The place is crawling with Clones but it was obvious that Palpatine was trying to gather things as quickly as possible to maintain his control over the galaxy, meaning the Clones weren't paying any attention to a random teenager. At this point your face is coated with a layer of dirt, which you don't mind since it adds to hide your identity.
Your first stop is to once again get some food and replenish your supplies as well as find a way to earn a few credits for later. It's as you're looking over a fruit stand that you feel a nudge from the force and two men talking nearby catch your attention. It doesn't take you long to recognize the faces, or face, the one face you had to have seen thousands of variations of, many the same but each with a different person behind it. They were clones.
The thing that had you so focused on them was the fact that they weren't wearing their armor, along with the fact that anytime other clones passed by they hid their faces from view. You try not to stare but you keep an eye on them, something was drawing you to them but you couldn't bring yourself to trust a couple stray clones on the spot like that.
Following them from a distance you are able to see that they are avoiding the other clones and one of the two you feel you recognize. He has a tattoo covering nearly half his face and you know you had fought beside him at one point, not that that meant a whole lot at this point. They stop and you can hear them talking about getting off world, they clearly don't want to be caught and it is as they are leaving town that you decide you can trust them.
You follow from a distance, trying to stay undetected, not sure how to approach them but the force was pulling you to do so. It isn't until you are well out of town that you begin trying to approach them, and it isn't until you get close to them that you realize something is off, they had realized they were being followed.
"Who are you?" The tattooed one asks loudly as they turn to face you, guns drawn.
Your heart is yet again in your throat as you step out into the open, both hands in front of you in an attempt of showing you mean no harm. You don't want to answer their question so you make a statement of your own, "you're clones."
You can see their grips on their guns change and you raise your hands a little higher, "I promise I don't mean any harm- I'm just wondering why you two aren't helping the others," you quickly explain, praying they won't shoot.
"Answer our question and might answer yours."
You take a deep breath, okay you can do this, it's just a matter of trust, and your life. Leaving one hand up in front of you you use the other to remove the hood you were wearing and then reach into the folds of your cloak to take out your lightsaber, holding out the hilt without igniting it, simply showing it to them. "I just need to know why the two of you are different."
The two men are more than a little surprised to see the lightsaber in your hand and share a glance between themselves. The fact that you were willing to show your face and the fact that you were one of the Jedi truly meant that you meant no harm.
Hunter looks at Cut for a moment and in almost a whisper says, "I recognize them, they're a padawan." From there he looks back to you and more loudly says, "come closer and we can talk," seeing as you were nearly a hundred feet away.
You take a breath as you move closer, hoping they wouldn't mind the tight grip you had on your saber, considering that they still had yet to put their guns down. You do a decent job at keeping your emotions down and hidden but the two clones know that you're scared, only a few years older than the children they had waiting for them.
Your eyes are locked on Hunter as you get closer, finally placing him and saying softly, "you're Hunter," you glance at the other but know you haven't a clue who he is, "with clone force 99... right?" you ask gently.
Cut nods and puts his gun away, "don't worry kid you don't have to hold your lightsaber so tight, we aren't going to kill you. And yes this is Hunter," he answers you, recognizing how sacred you really were, "I'm Cut, can I ask who you are?"
Your grip relaxes as he holsters his gun, then nudges Hunter to do the same with his gun. You can't bring yourself to let go of the hilt of your saber but you do at least let it drop to your side in a relaxed position. "I'm y/n l/n, Master Kenobi's padawan learner."
That's when Hunter nods, realizing that was when he recognized you from, he and the others of the bad batch had sometimes reported to Cody, the commander under General Kenobi. "So, why were you following us?"
"I- uh-" you stutter a bit as you try to get your thoughts together. You pause another beat before deciding to just share why it was you had followed them, "all of the clones turned against the Jedi and exterminated them, I lost everyone I knew and the two of you are different, you didn't kill me on sight... you were hiding from the other clones... like I am."
Thats when things begin to click for Hunter, while he had lost a close friend he still had the others. You on the other hand had lost everything and everyone, having nothing but a lightsaber and to be killed if recognized. "Okay kid, we aren't sure why the others turned but we are trying to figure it out. We're getting Cut and his family off this planet, then leaving ourselves."
Cut looks at Hunter for a moment then says, "you're welcome to come back to my family's farm with us, take a moment to relax, I'm sure you're tired."
You look at the two, and it's a moment before you accept the offer. There was still hesitation and fear running through your veins, but you had survived a war, you had grown up on the battle field, you could survive this too.
You were raised in the Jedi order, Padawan of Jedi Master Obiwan Kenobi.
It's as the three of you approach the farm that you finally put your lightsaber away. Theres other children, younger than you playing in the fenced area, and you doubt that they'd want to start a fight with them around. When you enter the gate the other people around give you curious looks, but don't seem to question the fact that you had come back with Hunter and Cut for the moment.
A little girl approaches you first, curiosity in her eyes as she asks, "who are you? I'm Omega."
Her friendliness catches you off guard but you answer softly, "y/n."
"It's nice to meet you y/n, we're playing catch," she says gesturing to the other two kids, "would you like to play with us?"
You furrow your brow as she asks this and hesitate a moment before saying, "not at the moment..." you pick at your fingers and look at the adults, before taking a breath and. saying, "I need to talk with them first then maybe."
"Okay, " she says but doesn't run off to play again, instead following you inside with Cut and Hunter.
Inside there are some other clones and a Twi'lek who you had seen through a window but instead of looking at you they just looked to Cut and Hunter for answers. "This is y/n l/n," Cut says, "we met her in town and said we'd help her out."
You wave timidly at them and look around, slowly recognizing the other clones.
"Hey, Omega how about you go play outside with Shaeeah and Jek," Cut suggests, as this was going to be a serious conversation and including Omega but not the other two would just make things a little difficult.
Omega looks to Hunter and he nods her out the door. Once she's out the door he turns to you, "now that we're somewhere safe would you like to explain yourself a bit more?"
His tone causes you a moments pause before you nod, "yeah, I can do that..." you pause as you look at the others in the room before going on to introduce yourself, "I'm y/n l/n, I was the padawan of Master Obiwan Kenobi," as you say this you take out your lightsaber to show them as if they wouldn't believe you otherwise. "I survived the siege on the Jedi temple and all the other clones turning against the Jedi, and I was able to escape to a shuttle off world and made it here." Stoic is the only way to describe the way you're speaking of these events, clearly letting all the training from the Jedi come forward to hide your emotions. You had been taught not to have emotion, and for you that just meant you didn't show any emotions, in truth every part of your body was aching with the pain of loosing everyone you knew.
"I thought the Jedi were the enemy?" Wrecker speaks up.
"No," Tech cuts in, "all we know is that us clones hive chips that caused us to easily turn against the Jedi, we don't know what the Jedi did to deserve being killed-"
You interject, trying to not sound too harsh, "the Jedi didn't do anything. I was at master Kenobi's side for many a meeting throughout the war, Senator Palpatine accuses us of committing war crimes but master Kenobi and the others on the council wanted nothing more than to end the war and keep the galaxy free."
"So you're saying this was all a ploy to execute the Jedi?" Cut asks, able to tell how much emotion you were holding back.
"Yeah, I think that is exactly what I am saying," you take a shaky breath, remembering all of the stuff the masters had taught you and your many grievances with the rules and standards. You decide to be completely honest, at least about everything that wasn't the fact you had only survived from being a dumbass who stole some clone armor. "Look, the Jedi were far from perfect but I know that the only reason they got involved in this conflict was because they wanted to keep people safe. We fought alongside the clones for years, we fought for the Republic, and in a matter of minutes the clones turned against us without question."
You take a breath since you're getting worked up, and Hunter takes the chance to interrupt, "look kid, we know something is off about all of this, we were with Master Billaba when it happened and saw how easily it happened. The only reason we didn't is because we're defective and we're trying to figure out why."
It's his honesty with this that allows you to relax, sensing absolutely no ill will towards you from anyone in the room. It's as you relax that you notice Echo, you hadn't been around him a lot before he had been captured, because he was in the 501st not the 212. "Echo?" you ask gently.
"Yes, that's me, it's good to see you y/n."
You give a gentle smile, "I'm glad that you're alright." From there you take another breath before looking around a bit, "I should get going, I don't want anyone coming after you all on my account."
Suu speaks up at that point, "y/n, my dear, they would already be coming after us if they knew we were here. Technically they are all deserters, and would be executed if found by the empire. You don't have to leave, we are figuring out how to get off world and are welcome to stay and take a break here, I'm sure you're exhausted after being on the run for nearly eight rotations."
You look at the Twi'lek and can feel yourself relax a bit more, realizing how tired you in fact were, "that- are you sure?" you catch yourself before answering.
"Of course I'm sure, my children are outside and I wouldn't put them in danger."
You look at her for another moment, your stomach answering for you by growling, "if you're sure, then that sounds nice."
"I'm sure. Let's get you something to eat," she says and takes your hand to have you find some food.
While you get some food Omega comes back inside, "you're done now?"
Shaeeah and Jek aren't far behind Omega and this leads to Cut stating, "you three were listening at the door weren't you?"
"Yeah," Omega says, sounding almost proud of herself before she looks at you where you were sitting and eating at the table, "so you're really a Jedi? How did you survive the clones attacking because of their programming?"
You finish chewing the bite of your food before saying, "I'm just a padawan, I survived because I was lucky." The only way anyone would learn how you survived is never, you'd take that secret to the grave.
Your vague answer sets Omega off on asking an endless string of questions to you, followed by Shaeeah and Jek listening to the conversation. This gives the adults a chance to move away and quietly discuss the situation with you. Sure sending Omega with Cut and his family would work to keep her out of harms way, but you on the other hand presented an entirely new problem. Cut couldn't easily take a Jedi with him and his family, there is hardly a chance that you'd even want that let alone able to handle a quiet family life after everything that you'd been through in your short life. All of this required more thought and lots of discussion as to how they would solve yet another problem on their long and quickly growing list of problems.
