I don't look it, but I love theology and my own personal religion especially. I've read my holy book twice the holy quran, cover to cover, and have read most holy texts out there and really love philosophy, psychology, science and thinking. Reading too, all I do is read and think about things and how it all makes sense and ties together in the light of my religion and life. So. . . I feel that times because I am a woman, people don't take my religious opinions seriously because I do not observe hijab. Regardless of my education, men and women that are respected as "religious" who have coincidentally also have not read the word of God to them, find this ONE thing that I don't do compared to all of my other completed tasks to be the deal breaker regarding me as a person or my ideas or religious input. I really don't get it. How can someone that has not read the words God intended them to hear over everything in this universe--the roar of their parents, clergy, all with bias and cultural norms overriding clear cut phenomena, can look down on me? It's b.s. my husband says that if I tell people that he told me whatever I tell him, ie. whatever I think of, that I share with him (We're very open and on par with our beliefs) people might listen to me, not because I'm not smart but because the other people I would be telling things to, aren't smart enough to think of these things on their own and the only way that they know things is by someone telling them and I think wow, what a shitty world we live in. Individual thinkers can't be open about their thoughts, and if they can be, they have to be a man, or say hey I heard it from a man or someone more knowledgeable as if someone can't be more knowledgeable in an area and being knowledgeable is impossible. These so called "experts" are just like you and me they just know or seem to know a lot about a random subject.
