So my new favourite song at the moment is 1-800-273-8255 by Logic, and this kind of popped into my head while I was listening to it today. It’s kind of inspired by both the music video and the song, although I haven’t seen the whole video.
“Sit down.” John’s voice is sharp as he meets Dean a the door and the teen immediately starts to rack his brain or things he did wrong lately. His English grade is a little low, but the C still lets him play sports, and he’s been meeting Mrs. Hendricks during lunch to fix it so he doesn’t think that’s it. “What is this?” John's voice is hard and Dean can’t breathe, his throat closing as soon as his father throws the magazine he hid under his bed on the table. He wants to ask how John found it but he knows where it was and the question is suspicious, he’s already wasting time. “It’s a magazine, I- ” His brain is screaming at him to find a excuse but that’s all it’s going. He can’t think. Hd remembers hearing about shock from that one paramedic that came to the house when Sammy rode his bike through the fence. He’s pretty sure that he’s in shock right now. He can’t hear John shouting, he doesn’t feel the magazine hitting his chest, it's like he watching a movie . It’s his father shoving his shoulder that finally springs Dean into action and he’s off the kitchen chair in a second and before his knows it he's out the door. His dad is still screaming about how he "didn't raise a fucking-" Dean can't hear the rest since he's already down the street but he just knows the next words. Soon enough he’s at the end of his street. Then at the end of the next. He forgot he was still wearing his backpack until he gets a burst of speed from dropping it. Dean runs the whole four miles to Castiel’s house, knocking on their door before he can fully breathe. He doesn’t question why he brought himself here, Castiel is safe. He always had been. He won’t laugh or hate Dean no matter what he tells him. Dean knows that Castiel will still be his friend, in the same way he knows that he can tell him everything if he wasn't such a fucking coward. Mrs. Novak answers and takes one look at the gasping teen on her doorstep before turning to call her son down. Dean has done this before. Castiel’s greeting dies on his lips as he sees Dean and it takes him all of a second to tuck his hands in his pockets and start walking. Their headed towards the bridge, same place they always go. Dean's thinks it's their spot. Castiel, like his mom, knows that Dean’s home life isn’t the best, although Castiel knows a lot more about it than his parent. Like how they get into fights sometimes and how John knows just what to say to destroy Dean and how he can't leave because of Sammy but he has a bag packed anyway. The only thing he doesn’t know, is that indirectly, this fight is about him.
