hello, mod of readmyplay here.

this was one of the best experiences of my life

i thank you all for all the asks I’ve received, for every interaction i managed to have, and especially thank you @insert-the-4thwall-entity for the visual media of this blog

this was meant to be a joke blog to indulge into something i was passionate at the time about, sparked by a minecraft arg that I loved

however, that passion has since dwindled greatly

and due to other things happening in real life i must prepare for, i see to it that this blog must go on hiatus for the time being.

i am sorry if i have not answered your asks yet, and i will find to do such someday

but for now, this is the end of readmyplay

it is not guaranteed i will return

with the possibility of me deactivating it if i see fit

i wish we can all meet again some time in the future.

Closing Announcement

Students of Bangtan University,

After nearly a year of running this network, the admins have come to the conclusion that it’s best if we close the network indefinitely.

The admins simply don’t have the time to keep up with our admin duties anymore, and we felt that it would be best to close the network officially rather than leave our members feeling confused and alone. While we know that we’ll miss the amazing community our members have helped to build, we recognize that good things must eventually come to an end. We will always be grateful for the memories that we shared with our members.

We understand that this has been a safe space for a large group of people, and we want to emphasize that while the official discord server and network are being shut down, we encourage our members to continue cultivating the friendships they made while in the network. This network’s purpose was to serve as a bridge between writers, and we hope that these relationships continue to grow and thrive outside of Bangtan University.

The admins have each prepared their own closing statements regarding the network if you’re interested in reading. If not, please know that we sincerely wish all of our members the very best in their future endeavors, and we thank you all for being a part of something so special to us.

Lainey (@ughseoks): when i first came up with the idea for bangtan university, i never imagined that it would grow to become such a vibrant community. it was only meant to be a small side project to focus on during the stressful beginning of my freshman year of college, but it soon began to mean something entirely different to me. it gifted me with a safety net filled with kind, loving people who were always there to cheer me up and make me smile. i'll forever cherish the wonderful memories i made with the members of the network, and i'll never forget how you all managed to make the network as comforting and welcoming as it was. although i'm no longer on tumblr, you all are more than welcome to message me on discord anytime. i love you all so much 🤍 thank you for everything.

Hazel (@sungiest): I am so happy to have been a part of BU and the community that we have all built together over this time we’ve had. I’m taking away so many positive and happy memories from this experience and i hope that all of our members can say the same. I wish everyone of BU the best and to never hesitate to reach out. Bean (@jinned): i want to thank everyone who came into this community with the intent of bringing support and positivity. The memories i’ve made in this network are ones i will cherish for a long long time and i’ve met some amazing friends through this network alone. Hey everyone! We’ve reached the end of the exchange! We had a total of 88 gifts published! They’ve all been wonderful gifts, and the sheer amount of work that everyone has put into this exchange has brought so much joy and holiday fun to the fandom!

Posting week is officially over, meaning that this even has officially come to a close. A massive thank you to everyone who participated; we’ve loved seeing all of your wonderful creations! Thank you also to everyone for constantly communicating with us throughout the creation period, and asking lots of questions; you made our job easy by doing that.

A special thank you to those who stepped up to fill in for several people who had to pull out of the event - to our Emergency Creators and our friends who stepped up - for helping us to fill those gaps, and thank you to those people for bearing with us where we had a few communication issues. We’ll do our best to ensure the same problems don’t happen next year.

We hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as we have, and we hope to see you next year for the 2021 exchange!
