This is a throwback post. I’m trying to get some old photos and topics out of my phone and my head.
This is a Halloween outfit I threw together in about 4 hours (shopping time included) for a party. I was and am still rather proud of how it turned out so I wanted to share it on a platform I feel will appreciate it.
I was a lady pirate and the costume was a mod podge of things I threw together. I’ll list them where and how I did it and then I’ll try to find Amazon dupes for anyone interested. (And of course the clicks do help, especially if you buy something on the other end 😅) These are affiliate links and will earn me a commission if you buy anything but it wouldn’t cost the purchaser anything extra.
Hat: A basic spirit Halloween pirate hat with lace trim that my sister tied a bow around using a length of red tulle.
Shirt: I don’t remember what brand or anything this shirt was. It was like a rayon button up number with the ribbon to make it a 3/4 sleeve.
Waist Cincher: Another spirit Halloween find. It was VERY cheap looking. But it did the job.
Skirt: This was my favorite part and the piece we put the most work into. It was a prom/hoco dress I got for cheap from a local thrift store. We cut the top off and hemmed it like a high waisted skirt. And then sewed the flounces? Gathers? Into the skirt at different locations to give it lots of volume and to show some leg.
And then some net tights and black boots of your choice. Hope someone gets some enjoyment out of this post.
