Hi friendo! 🍞!anon here. I have a question regarding our lord and saviour Sneep.
Aside from his brooding black, dark green and overall emo style. What colours do you think he would rock say over the holidays in Cokeworth? Like little purple pjs with bats over them lol? Or do you think that he would mostly wear some of his mothers clothes that still fit his frame mostly just to keep her memory closer to him and her scent bc a headcannon of mine was that he bought multiple bottles of her perfume after his first paycheque as a Hogwarts professor.
Thank you! Have a good day
Oh hiii 🍞!anon, long time no see! Hope you're doing great!
Haha no purple batty pjs for Severus but I do think purples look great on him (whether it be lavender, deep purple, burgundy, etc). I think mint suits him very well too. Blues as well. Basically any cool colors, since his complexion is quite warm.
This being said, he's no fashion enthusiast, and I think in Cokeworth during summer, when he's alone he'd wear some of his teen clothes (if they're still fitting) and we're talking jeans and loose t-shirts. Maybe long-sleeves if the house has cooling charms. In terms of colors it's black and blue and maybe grey. He'd have like one brown shirt laying around (it was the 70s back in the days after all). I've read him wearing olive green too and I found it quite interesting (it's a warmer green).
I don't see him wearing his mothers clothes at all into adulthood. Honestly, I think wearing them as a child was something quite humiliating to him. He *was* trying to hide his mother's smock under his father's coat during "The Prince's Tale" and it was summer. And Harry tells us he's visibly sweating and uncomfortable. Also he gets super embarrassed when Petunia points it out.
Not having his own clothes was a symbol of his poverty and ties to the grim muggle world he had to grow up in.
I also mostly see him throwing his mother's clothes away after her death. Not right away - somehow I don't see him coming back to the house immediately - but after a while he would. Maybe he'd keep one item (like a coat) for a while, like he'd get a bit sentimental and struggle a bit to take it off its hook on the wall. Maybe he'd wear it once because he'd smell the ghost of her scent for a few seconds, but that's it. Then he'd either toss it or put it away in a closet - never to be opened again.
I see him as having very complex feelings towards his mother. Very complex.
And I think Eileen was too poor to have been wearing perfume.
Had she had a bottle, it would have been extremely old (maybe from her young life as a witch) and discontinued.
