hello there new oc...

In filipino folklore, an aswang is an umbrella term for creatures that can shapeshift. Three of them are tooken into inspiration for Evalia's magic. Kind of like Nacht's how he can summon his devils, Evalia can summon creatures.

A mangkukulam (a witch that uses dark magic, in Black Clover terms, a witch that uses forbidden magic) is used as inspiration for Evalia who uses forbidden magic.

Okay now to tie this all together, another inspiration that created Evalia is an amalanhig.

So BASICALLY Im just gonna explain it in Black Clover terms. Evalia's bloodline was cursed by a strong devil from the start. Though it's called a devil's curse, it can be either a blessing or a curse if the holder of the curse wields it well. The cursed one can see the souls that did not go to heaven nor hell and can use forbidden magic without having the consequences if used correctly.

Those who resonate well with nature and mana can easily wiels the curse. Those who can't are most likely to suffer. Though, this devil's curse is passed down to each person in the family. Before a family member could die, they must pass down the power to the next family member in order to rest peacefully.

This exchange is through a flightless demon bird by exiting the mouth of the cursed one and into the mouth of the chosen predecessor. The only way this can be passed down is simply by being next to the cursed dying one. When Evalia's mother died, the curse was given to Evalia.

Because Evalia was so connected with nature and mana, the living dead followed along with her as if she was a savior. Evalia's bloodline was always seen as a disgrace or a dissapointment to the witch's forest.

Let's say Evalia escaped the forest. Because the witch's forest sits between the diamond and clover kingdom, she was able to scout around the two sides and neither kingdoms seem to have been able to glance an eye at her. and yeah eventually she decides to "accidentally" be caught or wtv

i never really vent vent and usually just type stuff like "woe is me" or whatever but

excitement or joy isnt as pleasing to me anymore. I can no longer enjoy these emotions without the recurring thought playing in the back of my head like a broken record. Every mistake I make is just a simple meaning to mull over for the rest of my life.

I don't like it when I get what I want. I don't want everything. It just curls me up into becoming someone who is greedy and selfish—at least, that's what I remember being called.

Because I am too used to having nothing, and to not being given what I need. I can't find joy in things that I am given from my parents, I can only find fear living in them.

To me, joy is an infection. If I keep touching it, then it will fester into more pain. Without it being treated properly, there's a chance that death can occur.

I feel too empty—I simply want to live in my own dreamworld. I want to dissapear, because that is my punishment. If I am not punished for being selfish, or insecure or rude or disappointing or disgusting, then I will punish myself. Because sin is to be overwritten by something that is "right". To even sin out, I can only give it a punishment.
