Who should Hawkstar make his deputy?

I'm still not buying that we're getting Hawkstar, but let's go through the SkyClan warriors we have currently?

Impossible (These cats have not mentored an apprentice, are too young, or too old.)

Cloudmist, Cherrytail, Sparrowpelt, Fallowfern, Turtlecrawl, Pigeonfoot, Violetshine, Beesting, Mintfur, Beetleshine, Ridgeglow, Duskshine, Nettlesplash, Palesky, Quailfeather, Wrenflight, Needleclaw, Starlingpaw, Robinpaw, and Rootspring.

I do think they'd be willing to overlook the deputy rule about having an apprentice (See. Owlnose) but I'd hate it.

Could, but unlikely. These cats have mentored at least one apprentice, but haven't done basically anything wothwhile.

Gravelnose, Sunnypelt, Dewspring, Nectarsong.

Dewspring maybe...? Idk, he seems unlikely. I know Nectarsong is on the cover, but that's definitely just because she's Starlingpaw's mentor and he's the new protag.

I can see it! They've mentored an apprentice, been a character with personality, and would probably be a good choice.

Most Likely (If the Erins remember anything)

Blossomheart! She's Hawkwing's sister, and has mentored three apprentices. If they remember the relation and give her character, sure.

Reedclaw! She's the one who started the vote, is Hawkwing's adoptive daughter, and has mentored two apprentices. I could see a Curlfeather/Berryheart situation where she becomes a deputy antagonist to Starlingpaw and Leafstar, meaning well, but going down a bitter and vengeful path for Kitescratch.

Plumwillow!!! Please Hawkwing she was basically your wife. She can be again!! Sandynose is gone!! Make your situationship your deputy!! I'd forgive all the Erins for everything if they made Plumwillow deputy. (They won't.) But she's mentored two apprentices, and if Hawkwing becomes deputy when Curlypaw left, Plumwillow can also do it! She'd be amazing at it!!

My conclusion is either Reedclaw or Plumwillow, but yknow they could blindside us with Rootspring and then I'd die in agony.

reworked Violetshine family tree! i was just gonna do the Sharpclaw line (the most plot important one), but it had so few changes I just extended the graph to include all sides of her tree.

as always, lots of inspiration taken from bonefall's tree

i use bone's 3 strict rules for fixing trees, with the tweak that characters must be more distant than second cousins to be compatible, rather than first. most important to know is the Queen's Rights.

Changes made:

Clovertail only has her first litter to nuke her impact on the tree. She became mates with Patchfoot afterwards, and he's considered her kits stepdad.

Sparrowpelt is no longer Tinycloud's mate. are they stupid

Pigeonfoot and Sunnypelt were found and adopted by Sparrowpelt during the period where Skyclan was scattered after Darktail. I mostly just needed to throw them somewhere; unlike Bonefall, I don't like removing characters. Every background nobody is someone's blorbo

Sharpclaw is no longer Cherrytail's mentor.

Hawkwing still helped Plumwillow raise her kits, but is not considered their dad. He's more like that friend of ur parents who u call uncle. trust me guys I wanted to keep the adoption it just lead to too many problems

Twigbranch and Finleap are now in a QPR, but not listed here because I don't (normally) list couples without kits. These trees get crowded enough as-is

Wrenflight was renamed to Wrenfeather to avoid conflict with Wrenflight of Windclan.

Needleclaw's mate is now Wrenfeather, instead of Kitescratch. she's currently expecting so whatever kits she has in a book or 2 will be Needleclaw's.

Tinycloud's mate is now Snookthorn, who's sticking around longer. why doesn't canon love the daylight warriors like I do

Quailfeather is now a SandyEgg kit, and not Tinycloud's. This is mostly because Snookthorn is gone by this point and thus they can't have a second litter, but also because I wanted Finleap to have a littermate, since bio-kin is really important to his arc.

Rockshade is Plumwillow's mate instead of Sandynose. Finleap stays with Sandynose; his other dad is Egg.

Kitescratch's mate is now Gravelnose, in exchange for Needleclaw getting Wrenfeather. There's a good chance that canon will make Starlingpaw being Tree's grandson relevant, so I may have to change this back, but until then I plug my ears and go lalalala
