The Cloverfield Paradox

I may be a bit bias against this movie. And that isn’t because I haven’t seen the other Cloverfield movies it’s because of a stupider reason that I’m just going to call: wanting cookies & cream ice cream but getting chocolate ice cream. Even if the chocolate ice cream is good it isn’t what you want but you can’t really complain because you still got good ice cream. Well I’m going to complain anyway.

See Cloverfield Paradox starts with the idea that there is an energy crisis and the only hope is using a practical accelerator or something like that. Basically they are using some high end technology that could possibly disrupt other dimensions. My thoughts on hearing this was excellent let’s get some cosmic horror up in here, let’s get some Event Horizon or Alien shit going down. Or even better some original cosmic horror closely resembling At the Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft, I mean we have all we need. We have a bunch of humans in the name of science going were no human has ever gone before and were no human maybe ever should go. Use that for the horror.

Without giving any spoilers, they don’t really do that kind of sort of but not really. With spoilers, and this may be a deal breaker for some of you but I encourage it not to be, but there isn’t an alien or monster in this. The conflict is more like Gravity in which it is one versus the unforgiving climate of space and the dangers of the science they are working on and each other. None of this is done poorly but it isn’t what I wanted.

This is a fine movie watch it if you are interested in Science fiction, and I mean more like plausible science fiction. I’m not a physicist or anything but I think a physicist would really like this movie. It seems to be trying to be accurate and seems to be theoretically plausible but again I know nothing about this. I mean nothing, you could show me a sock and tell me how it could become a wormhole and I would probably believe it. I also think that the upside-down logic made sense in Stranger Things, and a wrinkle in time from A Wrinkle in Time would also make sense. My point is I’m a bit gullible about this stuff

Actually you know what no I’m going to complain about the ice cream again because I was wrong. I asked for Cookies in Cream you wrote down Cookies and cream yet somehow you screwed up and gave me Chocolate! I mean seriously you start the movie by showing this weird build up in dimensional shifts and then it happens. Then to push even further some weird shit starts happening but builds up to get this NOTHING! I should be a little upset that I didn’t get what I anticipated you didn’t deliver movie. Also I think using energy that if done wrong could send you to a different dimension is an awful idea, but you only put that in there to shove in some sort of social commentary in. Again this movie is alright.

does anyone else have a serious love for the movie Chronicle like i do? cause no one seems to appreciate it. OR cloverfeild which was also fucking amazing. i feel i rant about this a lot but once i meet someone who loves it just as much as me (my dad doesn't count) maybe ill shut up.
