After three to four hours, finally the traffic has started clearing up. All the involved in the accident are doing fine and Lorelai Garcia has gone straight to the hospital, her injuries are still undisclosed. Ambulances are set to get to the location of the event as quick as possible so that the paramedics can take whoever needs to be taken to the hospital. It has been a rough night, but those in charge will do anything possible to get the injured to a hospital.
Police will from now on, be investigating the cause and expect to interview everyone who has been involved. Security cameras will be checked and most of all, those in charge of the event and of the fireworks.
OOC:
With this, we have closed this event, we want to thank for everyone’s participation -- it actually ran smoothly and we owe it to you guys for being so excited about it and engaging your characters and roleplaying with people you’ve never seen before. Making mamas proud.
Know that major plots should be continued on the dash until they are finished, but you and your roleplaying partner are the ones to decide if so is happening.
The functioning of the roleplay will go back to what it was before. Including starters, just to remind you: one starter, per character, per every three days, don’t post a starter on every character at once, because that’s not in the rules.
Nobody was greatly injured. Please, handle your character’s injury as it should be and don’t forget that your character has been injured just because the event is over. Injuries take time to heal and so will these.
Be reasonable about your character’s needs to go to the hospital. Some of them could be cleared off on location by nurses and paramedics on the triage tent (the tent was equipped for something like this, of course, not on this proportion, but it was. Our mayor always hopes for the best and prepares for the worst.
Have in mind that this event has had an impact on your character and the town as a whole and will be inserted in all of the plotlines from now on (please don’t let it be forgotten now that it has passed).
This has been an event that shouldn’t be forgotten and will come in play for the future.
"Well? Did you see either of them? A boy, Devan, he’s sixteen... I think Koda said he was wearing a Bastille shirt and Gaby, his sister... she’s only fifteen, red dress and --- seriously? Did you even look? What about Sara, Nic said he can’t find her either... what did everyone just disappear in to thin air or something?”
“You were supposed to be WATCHING!” Andy let out a sudden shout of aggression, shoving the security guard hard in the chest, almost so hard without warning that he toppled over. At the last minute though, he seemed to hold his guard and threw out a hand to try and block the woman’s attacks. The fireworks hadn’t gone off according to plan, they’d sprayed through the crowd and what had only been moments of laughter before, now was plagued with fear for other’s well being. One of them being her seven year old son Oliver, who’d been showered in hot shrapnel from the firecrackers. She’d been too loud inside the triage tent, too hostile and so they’d removed her while her son was being treated. In this time, she’d taken out her aggression on the first supervisor she could find. “What the fuck is wrong with you people! You call this a fucking family holiday event! MY SON – IS BEING TREATED – FOR FIRST DEGREE BURNS – “ She shouted with every shove she could get in, “You son of a bitch, you SHOULD HAVE BEEN WATCHING!”
Charlie: Just tell me that you're okay? They're saying on TV that help might take a while to get there. Whatever you're doing, just go to the triage tent.
Emerson was on the ground before he had even registered what was happening. There were a few more bangs and he finally put it together. Fireworks had ended up in the crowd. People were panicking. That didn’t help him, though. He was getting kicked and stepped on as other people were trying to escape. He tried to protect his head but he couldn’t do that and get up at the same time.
After fireworks had accidentally went into the crowd, Brandon found himself in the middle of a panicked crowd who was scattering in an attempt to not get hit with fireworks. He had a few beers so his balance wasn’t exactly the greatest at the moment, so after a few people shoved their way past him, he fell down into the lake and hit his head, which caused some confusion and pain. Considering Brandon had always been terrified of water, this wasn’t exactly a pleasant experience and fear immediately rushed into him as he swam towards the edge and dragged himself onto the dry land. Laying down across the sand and rubbing his head as he struggled to get to his feet, Brandon ended up laying on the floor for a bit, even getting struck in the arm by a firework that headed into the crowd, which caused him to call out for help.
❝ It’s nearly time for the main event of the night! The Fourth of July fireworks will begin at 10:30pm, so everyone please head down towards the lake, find a comfy seat on the bleachers or set out a blanket on the grass, and enjoy the show! ❞
As the clock struck ten thirty, all who were at the grounds gathered by the lake for the highlight of the evening – the Fourth of July Fireworks. Cloverbrook had always tried to go all out on the Fourth of July, one of the few times of the year that they invested in fireworks, courtesy of the richer families in town. But this year was a first, to hold Fourth celebrations at the lake, and it seemed to be the right choice, surrounded by clear, still water and the lush greenery of Crystal Falls. The sound of happy laughter was ringing in the air, the atmosphere thrumming with excitement as kids and adults alike waited with anticipation. All were dress in red, white and blue, some happily tipsy as the hours went by, and most were just trying to find the perfect spot to watch the festivities. Picnic blankets laid out on the grassy knoll, and the tall, wooden bleachers set up for better vantage point were filled to the brim as people started finding their seats, snacks and beers in hand, waiting for the show to start.
F I R E W O R K S.
The lakeground lights dimmed, a faint orange glow illuminating all that were there as the announcer on the microphone began counting down. “Ten, nine, eight..” The crowd chanted with happy smiles, all eyes turned towards the water.
What was suppose to be a beautiful display of lights in the sky as the chanting finished at ‘one’, as suddenly, instead of shooting upwards, darts of fire were aimed into the crowd. Screams of panic filled the air, everyone scrambling out of the way to get out as soon as possible, a terrified stampede heading away from the lake. The fireworks were unstoppable at this point, hitting the wooden bleachers and sending it collapsing into the ground, set afire as the cries of help from those injured were heard. Pieces of shrapnel were sent flying and the unlucky were hit, laying on the ground, bleeding.
A panicked, booming voice came over the loudspeaker, but it was too late. The music had abruptly stopped, the atmosphere turned sour, filled with confusion and hysteria as now Fourth of July in Cloverbrook was nothing like what it was supposed to be.
OOC:
Everyone is impacted! If your character is not injured, they would most likely be there as it all went down and trying to get out. You are welcome to think creatively around this for your character, but please run major plots by us as usual.
General starters by all are welcomed.
If your character has been injured, either post a general starter or a closed starter for the person you were paired up with. In the case you haven’t heard back from that person, you’re welcome to post a self-para.
Triage, security and organizing committee are still expected to be on duty especially now in emergency situations.
“That’s for me, right?” She points with one long finger at one of the beers in hand, letting out a pleased noise. “Gimmie,” her point turns to a grabby hand, cheesy grin in place. “You’re a saint. I could kiss you - but only after you beer me.”
